Blu-ray Review: ‘Hocus Pocus’ 25th Anniversary!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 2nd, 2018

It’s hard to believe that this film has been out for 25 years. ‘Hocus Pocus‘ had a strange story to it in that it’s a Halloween film from Disney that was released in the middle of Summer in 1993 against the movie ‘Free Willy‘. It stood no chance whatsoever and only made a little bit more than its budget. That being said, over the past two decades, ‘Hocus Pocus‘ has become a strong cult film amongst adults and kids alike where cosplayers and fans still celebrate this movie to this day with giant fandom. Say what you will about this movie, it’s always impressive that a movie that was virtually disliked by a ton of professionals and didn’t make money when it came out, but has become super successful for twenty years and counting is nothing short of a miracle.

Hi, Bryan Here….

I can’t believe I am writing this.  But, Disney is remaking their amazing 80’s time travel/alien film ‘Flight of the Navigator’.  The creative team behind the movie ‘Safety Not Guaranteed’ Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly will be developing the remake with Trevorrow to direct. The original 1986 film was directed by Randal Kleiser and starred a young Joey Cramer and co-starred Veronica Cartwright and Sarah Jessica Parker, with Paul Reubens as the voice of the robotic alien.

A New Godzilla Movie is in the Works

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 21st, 2010

After reading the news on the a potential new Godzilla movie, I bursted out saying “MAN IN SUIT! MAN IN SUIT!”  Because what I read, is nothing short of spectacular and I realized that finally someone is going to take this franchise to the next level and make it AWESOME once again.

Now we all remember that turd of a film from the late 90’s with Ferris Bueller called Godzilla.  And we remember how bad that film was.  So bad that Cowdefender thought Sarah Jessica Parker was in the film.  It was just a hard film to watch because it made no sense whatsoever and it should have NOT been called GODZILLA.  It should have been called Ferris Bueller’s Day Off 2: Giant Lizards Defend Themselves or something to that tune.

As of now Legendary Pictures is working on a new Godzilla film with Brian Rogers producing.

Rogers said:

“They’re taking more of a BATMAN BEGINS/DARK KNIGHT approach to re-developing the GODZILLA lore (by implication – much of GODZILLA’s concept will remain essentially what we saw in the “classic” mythos, but with some tweaking and nudging to get it to a loftier place . This is quite unlike the approach taken when Sony Americanized Godzilla back in the 90s).”

“Current plans are for Godzilla to fight one, or more, monster opponents in the new movie.”
