Hi everyone, Bryan here….

It looks like Warner Bros. wants to make yet another adaptation of Invasion of the Body Snatchers with David Leslie Johnson (The Conjuring 2) writing the screenplay and John Davis (I, Robot) producing. This is perhaps the 74th time Invasion of the Body Snatchers has been remade. Originally this was a book from 1954 that was made for the big screen in 1956.

It was later remade in 1978 with Donald Sutherland and Jeff Goldblum. Then again in 2007, which was simply called The Invasion that starred Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig. There are no other tidbits of news yet, but I imagine a director and a cast will be announced shortly. Invasion of the Body Snatchers usually follows a group of people in a small town or big city that has been invaded by aliens that grow up to look exactly like the regular people in town, but are devoid of all emotion.

It’s a solid premise that works, but I guess now, Warner Bros. will give it a big budget and make it closer to the original. We will see. Let it also be known that the writer David Leslie Johnson is working on The Conjuring 2 script and more interestingly a remake of Nightmare on Elm St., which will not be a part of the recent revamp.
