Hi, Bryan Here….

Well of course ‘The Walking Dead‘ was renewed for a fifth season. The recent fourth season opener broke cable records with over 16 million people tuning in. Zombies are in this year. And it seems they are not going away anytime soon. AMC announced today that the fifth season has been ordered. AMC president Charlie Collier said, “We are very happy to make what has to be one of the most anti-climactic renewal announcements ever:  The Walking Dead is renewed for a fifth season.  This is a show that has erased traditional distinctions between cable and broadcast. Its expanding base of passionate fans has grown every season, most recently – and most notably – with the season four premiere earlier this month, which broke viewership records for the series and became the biggest non-sports telecast in cable history. On behalf of the incredible team on both sides of the camera, thank you to the fans and here’s to more Dead.”

Showrunner Scott Gimple will be staying on the show as his current title as well. I mean, this isn’t Earth shattering news, because we all know this is one of the most watched tv shows out right now, plus AMC has also announced spinoff shows of other survivors in the zombie-riddened world set in the same time as ‘Walking Dead’.

So congrats to everyone on the show. This season has been spectacular so far. The 5th season will air late next year.
