Mattel has lengthened its contract with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) to make the toys for upcoming theatrical releases. Specifically to those adapted from DC comics.

Under the agreement, Mattel is granted unfettered access to the complete DC character base. This includes icons like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, but also lesser known entities like Scarecrow and Bigby Wolf (if, you know, they ever made a Fables movie. *hint hint, DC*).

This means that Mattel will get to make the toys for such huge upcoming releases as July 20th’s The Dark Knight Rises and 2013’s Man of Steel. They’re also in charge of TV toys, like action figures for Warner Bros.’ new animated Green Lantern series. This one is exclusive to Cartoon Network and will be a platform for a new program: DC Nation, which will feature original and exclusive content from the wide range of DC characters.

Basically, Mattel has the rights to my soul. Help.
