Now that the Farrelly Bros have wrapped up The Three Stooges (out next year), they’ve moved on with Jim Carrey (who starred in Stooges) to bring back a dead franchise.

In 1995, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels starred together in a ridiculously stupid movie  about two stupid guys doing stupid things together in an attempt to return some money…stupidly. Somehow, the movie got along on charm; the two main characters may have been intellectually challenged, but they had hearts of gold. It was a pretty good-sized hit…and then New Line had to ruin it in 2003 by making a prequel with different actors. Take note – THIS NEVER WORKS.

Moving on.

Now that the Farrelly Bros. are not so busy with their dream project (Stooges) they want to resurrect it all seventeen years after the original. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are on board. Sean Anders and John Morris (both of Mr. Popper’s Penguins) have been hired to write the script. The original producers of Dumb and Dumber are also coming back: Charles B. Wessler, Brad Krevoy, and Steve Stabler.
