Hi Bryan Here….

I am a huge fan of Brett Easton Ellis.  His novels are amazing.  He wrote ‘American Psycho’, ‘Less Than Zero’, ‘Rules of Attraction’, and ‘Lunar Park’ to name a few.  He is now teaming up with director Paul Schrader to make a film called ‘Bait’ which “follows a young man itching to take his revenge against the wealthy.  The man, who works at a posh beach club, angles his way on to a yacht filled with the obnoxious elite, commandeering it into waters filled with the finned man-eaters.”

4K UHD Review: ‘American Psycho’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 25th, 2018

American Psycho became one of my favorite films when it first debuted almost two decades ago. Based on Brett Easton Ellis‘ hit novel of the same name, it follows a square, nerdy, yet hugely successful investment banker in New York City named Patrick Bateman. When Bateman isn’t busy being boring and working, he moonlights as a brutal and vicious serial killer around NYC. In this darkly comedic story that combines comedy, horror, and 1980s pop tunes, you can’t help but laugh and be scared by the OCD of Patrick Bateman as he navigates his business life, business cards, making reservations at restaurants and killing people with axes and chainsaws.

Soundtracks we want to see released on Vinyl!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 15th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

preview

I just love soundtracks to movies. I always have and I believe I always will. There is something about a score to a film that just perks me up in all the right ways and inspires my creative side, whether it be to write a screenplay or go back an watch that old film I love. Music is an integral part to films and is considered to be the mojo of every movie. I’m sure we’ve all seen that odd YouTube video of the final scene in Star Wars: A New Hope, where Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca walk down a crowded arena to receive their medals to zero music. It’s super weird and awkward with no music, but just random sound effects of footsteps and a rare cough, laugh, and Chewie’s roar. John Williams did such a great job, as he always does with Star Wars music, but that final scene of music really puts your emotions on full blast. It’s all from the soundtrack too.

FX Wants An ‘American Psycho’ Series!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 11th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

 american_psycho-1

Looks like Patrick Bateman will still be returning videotapes, as FX wants the ‘American Psycho‘ storyline and characters for a tv series. Allison Shearmur and Stefan Jaworski are behind the project. ‘American Psycho‘ was first a novel written by Brett Easton Ellis, and is still considered one of the best books of the decade. In 2000, a movie was made based on the book that starred Christian Bale as Bateman, a successful CEO in 1980’s New York who moonlights as a sadistic serial killer.
