One of the funniest people in the world today, Melissa McCarthy, just keeps the hits coming. The trailer just dropped for the upcoming movie ‘Tammy‘. I am going to love this so much! This is a 4th of July weekend comedy about a woman pushed over the edge when she’s fired from her fast food job, finds her husband cheating, and becomes a fugitive on the run with her grandma (Susan Sarandon) bound for Niagara Falls.

McCarthy rides the comedy wave that began with ‘Bridesmaids‘ and her wave is still high with ‘Identity Thief‘ and ‘The Heat‘. This is all with keeping the hilarious ‘Mike & Molly‘ in production. Speaking of ‘Mike & Molly‘, Sarandon has a regular character as Molly’s literary idol, J.C. Small whom Molly adores. Another ‘Tammy’ co-star is Kathy Bates also guest-starred in the series as well as the character Kay McKinnon.

This is also McCarthy’s first venture into script writing alongside her husband Ben Falcone. Falcone has had some co-starring roles in several of McCarthy’s films, most notably as Air Marshall Jon in ‘Bridesmaids‘. He’s the guy that McCarthy tries her damndest to seduce on the plane. I’m normally a blonde, but have gone with auburn hair recently. It took my mom 20 minutes last week to realize I reminded her of Melissa McCarthy. My best friend has been telling me I act just like her for years. Clearly Melissa McCarthy is my spirit animal.
