‘Sausage Party’. Just let that sink in a minute. What are you thinking about? You filthy person! You’re wrong, though. (I was too!) This is an R-Rated animated film written by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir. Sony and Annapurna pictures are co-financing and producing the project. Rogen and Goldberg wrote This Is The End, the hilarious end of the world comedy that just passed $100 million in domestic box office sales.

The raunchy animated movie centers on one sausage’s quest to discover the truth about his existence. Once again, you’re wrong about where you think this is going! After it falls out of a shopping cart, the hero sausage and his friends embark on a journey through the supermarket to get back to their aisles before the big 4th of July sale. See? You were wrong. Well, I’m sure there will be tons of double entendre jokes. At least it better give me some new jokes I can pass off as my own at the next cookout.

The story came from the brains of none other than Rogen, Goldberg and Jonah Hill. Can I just go off for a moment here and say “DAMN! Jonah Hill got skinny and kinda hot?” Anyhow, Jonah Hill will executive produce with Hunter, Shaffir and James Weaver. Conrad Vernon of ‘Shrek 2‘ and ‘Monsters Vs. Aliens‘ fame, and Greg Tiernan will direct. Vernon is producing with Annapurna’s Megan Ellison, Rogen and Goldberg. Sony plans to release worldwide and it looks like we have to wait until 2015 to see this sausage fest…I mean party.

This sounds very similar to a movie called ‘Doggy Poo‘, which is a clay-animation short film about an actual dog poop who questions his existence and meets passing animals and debris along the way. It’s actually a good short film, but also very funny, as we actually see an animated dog take a shit, and the poop come to life and start talking.
