Hi, Bryan Here….
I’m so happy to be back getting this column written up every week. It’s been a long while, since we did the famous Boomstick Must Own Blurays. But rest assured, this column is back in full force and will be updated weekly. You might be asking, “Why were you gone for so long?” Well, the answer is, we never went away, and we started doing full length reviews of all the blurays and DVD’s we received. Long-story-short, things got hectic for a while with all the cool stuff we have going on. I’ll inform you more on that a little later. But for now, not only will you still get the full length reviews of each and every bluray, DVD, and video game. But, you will get our infamous bluray and DVD weekly picks. We are glad to be back. So let us jump right in and get to all the goodies. As usual, in this article, you will get some info about the disc and the extras that come with the movie as well as a personal opinion about the movie and a link to purchase the film over at AMAZON where you can save quite a bit of money, and it will give a small percentage kick back to this site so we can continue bringing you excellent stories and bizarre tales. So click on the pictures start saving.
Enjoy and Here We Go!!
BARBARELLA (BLURAY)
This was the part Jane Fonda was born to play. She is all sorts of sexy in this role. Quite iconic if I must say. In the far future, a highly sexual woman is tasked with finding and stopping the evil Durand-Durand. Why has this not been remade, but Willy Wonka has has? This looks great on bluray however the mono soundtrack is lacking. I prefer the real thing. But a Barbarella bluray is better than no bluray, right? I feel like this release wasn’t given the proper treatment it needed. I know it is a silly and cheesy film, but that’s what makes it so good and what makes it the iconic cult film it is today. I feel like an ultimate edition is imminent in the future.

BORN ON THE 4TH OF JULY (BLURAY+DVD+DIGITAL COPY)
We all know why this is being released the day before Independence day. Say what you will about Tom Cruise. The guy has acting chops. And this film proves it. Born On The Fourth Of July tells the true story of Ron Kovic (Tom Cruise), a patriotic, All-American small town athlete who shocks his family by enlisting with the Marines to fight in the Vietnam War. Once he is overseas, however, Kovic’s gung-ho enthusiasm turns to horror and confusion when he accidentally kills one of his own men in a firefight. His downfall is furthered by a bullet wound that leaves him paralyzed from the chest down. He returns home, spends an appalling, nightmarish stint in a veterans’ hospital, and follows an increasingly disillusioned and fragmented path that ultimately leaves him drunk and dissolute in Mexico. However, Kovic somehow turns himself around and pulls his life together, becoming an outspoken anti-war activist in the process. The film is long but emotionally powerful; many consider it Stone’s best work and Cruise’s best performance. This is an oscar nominated film and it shows. The audio and video are very good and there are some decent extras as well. If you are a fan of the film, you already know you’re getting it.

CHESTY MORGAN’S BOSOM BUDDIES TRIPLE FEATURE (BLURAY)
Now I have not seen these yet, but I’m fully intrigued. I have a soft spot for 1970’s fetish films. To See Them is to Disbelieve Them! The eye-popping, excessively endowed Chesty Morgan attacks the mob with two of the most incredible DEADLY WEAPONS ever seen on the motion picture screen: her 73-inch breasts! Chesty then returns as DOUBLE AGENT 73, who busts up a drug ring with the aid of a camera implanted in one of her breasts. But the camera is also a time bomb making her boob… well, booby trapped! Finally, THE IMMORAL THREE are the three daughters of a spy mom who must avenge her death in order to collect a three-million-dollar inheritance in this third mind-boggling epic from cult director Doris Wishman! Can’t wait to watch this. Movie marathon time.
DJANGO, KILL…IF YOU LIVE, SHOOT! (BLURAY)
This is awesome. Tomas Milian stars as a half-breed bandit double-crossed and left for dead who rises from the grave to seek his revenge. But when his quest leads to a bizarre town called ‘The Unhappy Place,’ he is plunged into an odyssey of gruesome torture, graphic violence and relentless sexual depravity. This is the landmark movie that fans and critics still consider to be the strangest and maybe the coolest ‘Spaghetti Western’ ever made. And with Tarantino’s new film coming out on Christmas this year, this will give you plenty of of what you want before his movie comes out. This sounds and look fucking great. This is a must own for you fans out there.
