AGE OF DRAGONS (BLURAY)
This is a film with Danny Glover and Vinnie Jones that is an adaptation of ‘Moby Dick’. But replace the whale with a dragon. What do you get? This amazing, yet awful piece of film. Age of the Dragons is an adaptation of Herman Melville s classic novel Moby Dick. Set in a medieval realm where Captain Ahab and crew hunt dragons for the vitriol that powers their world, Ishmael, a charismatic harpooner and his friend Queequeg join their quest. Ahab s adopted daughter Rachel, beautiful and tough, runs the hunting vessel. Ahab s obsession to seek revenge on a great White Dragon that slaughtered his family when he was young and left his body scarred and mauled, drives the crew deeper into the heart of darkness. In the White Dragon s lair Ahab s Secrets are revealed and Rachel must choose between following him on his dark quest or escaping to a new life with Ishmael.
BIG EASY EXPRESS (BLURAY+DVD)
‘Big Easy Express,’ directed by Emmett Malloy (‘Under the Great White Northern Lights’), is a film documenting indie folk heroes Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Tennessee’s Old Crow Medicine Show, and Britain’s acclaimed Mumford & Sons, as they climbed aboard a beautiful vintage train in California, setting out for New Orleans, Louisiana ona the Railroad Revival Tour in April 2011. Part road movie and part concert film, ‘Big Easy Express’ bears witness to the birth of a new musical era. With poignancy and beauty, Malloy documents these incredible musicians as they ride the rails and wow the crowds, from Oakland…to New Orleans. The film was SXSW’s Headline Audience Award winner this March and has continued to have closing and opening night showings at various film festivals including Silverdocs, Los Angeles Film Festival, and more. Must own for music lovers.

DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN (BLURAY)
Groton (Lon Chaney Jr.) is an axe-wielding homicidal maniac working for Dr. Durray (J. Carrol Naish), who is the last of the Frankenstein family and is now running a house of horrors by the beach. Count Dracula (Zandor Vorkov) visits the doctor, shows him the original monster creation buried in a nearby graveyard, and promises to revive it in exchange for a serum that will grant him immortality! I must own all of these.
JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI (BLURAY)
Seriously. You must see this. In the basement of a Tokyo office building, 85 year old sushi master Jiro Ono works tirelessly in his world renowned restaurant, Sukiyabashi Jiro. As his son Yoshikazu faces the pressures of stepping into his father’s shoes and taking over the legendary restaurant, Jiro relentlessly pursues his lifelong quest to create the perfect piece of sushi.
THE LAST DAYS OF DISCO (BLURAY CRITERION COLLECTION)
One of my all time favorite films. I’m so happy Criterion finally put this in HD. The Last Days of Disco is a cleverly comic return to an early 1980s Manhattan party scene from director Whit Stillman. At the center of the film’s roundelay of revelers are the icy Charlotte (Kate Beckinsale) and the demure Alice (Chloë Sevigny), by day toiling as publishing house assistants and by night looking for romance and entertainment at a Studio 54–like club. The Last Days of Disco is an affectionate yet unsentimental look at the end of an era, brimming with Stillman’s trademark dry humor.

MY WAY (BLURAY)
Je-kyu Kang’s ’My Way’ is not just a film you watch, it’s a full emotional experience. ’My Way’ will take you on a moving journey through several countries and languages as you grown a bond with the two main characters. This is Korea’s most expensive film to date and you will immediately see that. ’My Way’ is epic on all levels. This is one of the better films I have seen in recent memory and most definitely the best film dealing with war-time since Spielberg’s ‘Saving Private Ryan’. SEE THIS FILM. After emerging as bitter rivals and enemies as young marathon Olympic runners, Korean native Kim Jun-shik (Jang Dong-Gun) and Japanese aristocrat Tatsuo Hasegawa (Joe Odagiri) both find themselves in the Japanese army, fighting the Chinese and Soviets in a bloody battle. Jun-shik is there under duress, while Tatsuo is a powerful colonel. After both are taken prisoner by the Soviets, their mutual hatred and mistrust boils over into a violence that is only stopped by the continuing horror of the war. Forced to fight for the Soviets, the two eventually rely on each other for survival, making it to Germany, where they are in turn separated and forced to fight for the Nazis. They meet again at Normandy Beach, both unlikely survivors, bonded together by history as they struggle to survive one more terrible battle as the Allies arrive on D-Day.

MYSTERY MEN (BLURAY)
What’s not to like about this movie? Sure, it’s ridiculous, but that’s the fun of it. Plus you get Ben Stiller and Paul Ruebens as superheroes. Not to mention Tom Waits as the inventor. So great. When Captain Amazing, chief superhero of Champion City, is kidnapped by insane supervillain Casanova Frankenstein, who will save the city and ensure that justice is served? Enter the Mystery Men: Mr. Furious, The Bowler, The Blue Raja, The Shoveler, The Spleen, The Sphinx, and the Invisible Boy- a group of misfits in possession of superpowers…sort of. Watch the mayhem ensue, as this wacky team goes up against Frankenstein and his mad henchmen.

AMERICANA: NEIL YOUNG AND CRAZY HORSE (BLURAY)
Americana is the first album from Neil Young & Crazy Horse in nearly nine years. Crazy Horse is: Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina, Poncho Sampedro, and Neil Young. As you ll see from the track-listing, Americana is collection of classic, American folk songs. In their day, some of these may have been referred to as “protest songs,” “murder ballads,” or campfire-type songs passed down with universal, relatable tales for everyman. Some of these compositions which, like “Tom Dooley” and “Oh Susannah,” were written in the 1800s, while others, like “This Land Is Your Land” (utilizing the original, widely misinterpreted “deleted verses”) and “Get A Job,” are mid-20th-century folk classics. It s also interesting to note that “God Save The Queen,” Britain s national anthem, also became the de facto national anthem of sorts before the establishment of The Union as we know it until we came to adopt our very own “The Star Spangled Banner,” which has been recognized for use as early as 1889 and made our official national anthem in 1931. Each of these compositions is very much part of the fabric of our American heritage; the roots of what we think of as “Americana” in cultural terms, using songs as a way of passing along information and documenting our past. What ties these songs together is the fact that while they may represent an America that may no longer exist, the emotions and scenarios behind these songs still resonate with what is going on in the country today with equal, if not greater impact nearly 200 years later. The lyrics reflect the same concerns and are still remarkably meaningful to a society going through economic and cultural upheaval, especially during an election year. They are just as poignant and powerful today as the day they were written.
Track listing:
1. Oh Susannah 2. Clementine 3. Tom Dula 4. Gallows Pole 5. Get A Job 6. Travel On 7. High Flyin’ Bird 8. Jesus’ Chariot 9. This Land Is Your Land 10. Wayfarin’ Stranger 11. God Save The Queen

SILENT HOUSE (BLURAY+DVD+DIGITAL COPY)
Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) stars in this suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat thriller presented in real time as one shocking, uninterrupted shot. When Sarah (Olsen) finds herself sealed inside her family’s secluded lake house with no contact to the outside world, panic soon turns to terror as events become increasingly ominous. Directed by filmmaking duo Chris Kentis and Laura Lau (Open Water), it’s a tension-filled journey that Scott Mantz of Access Hollywood raves is “Beyond terrifying! Clever, gripping, intense and scary as hell!”

STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION SEASON 1 (BLURAY)
This is a monumental day for Trekkies everywhere. Finally, The Next Generation series is out on bluray. Nearly two decades after the cancellation of the original STAR TREK television series, creator Gene Roddenberry launched the first of what was to be four phenomenally successful spinoffs with STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. Set in the 24th century (nearly 100 years after the stewardship of Captain Kirk), the series introduced an all-new cast of intergalactic travellers exploring the farthest reaches out of outer space on a mission to chart new planets and alien civilizations. Ship commander Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) anchored the crew of the Starship Enterprise-D with a sensitive reserve that marked a distinct contrast to his trigger-happy predecessor, whose role was assumed by the Kirk-like second-in-command, William Riker (Jonathan Frakes). Rounding out the cast were the Spock-like android, Data (Brent Spiner); blind officer, Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton); Klingon officer, Worf (Michael Dorn); ship doctor, Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden); her teenage son, Wesley (Wil Wheaton); and psychic psychiatrist, Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis). Considered one of the best STAR TREK spinoffs for its intelligent writing and superb sci-fi special effects, THE NEXT GENERATION lives on in cult fandom with this complete collection of episodes from the series’ debut season. MUST OWN!
