Hey guys, Jana here,
Zack Snyder has placed J.K. Simmons in the middle of another superhero world, this time making him Gotham City police commissioner Gordon in his upcoming ‘The Justice League‘. This is the same man that anchored Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man‘ at the Daily Planet as J. Jonah Jameson beginning in 2002 and running through three films before the property was rebooted.
Ironically, just last week Simmons stated that he’s open to playing Jameson again in the latest MCU reboot of ‘Spider-Man‘ that is starring Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei and Zendaya.
The Warner Bros. film is to star Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck and Jason Momoa in all their superhero splendor. In TJL film, we see Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg teaming up to combat a threat beyond what each member can handle on their own.
‘Justice League: Part One‘ will begin shooting in mid-April and scheduled for release on November 17, 2017 with Part Two arriving June 14, 2019.
Simmons won the best supporting actor Oscar in 2015 for ‘Whiplash‘ and if he wasn’t busy before, he’s busier than a one-armed paper hanger now! He’s got 12 projects that are in various stages of completion with 10 projects due to be released this year, alone!
I’m still going to promote the hell out of ‘Whiplash‘ and if you haven’t seen it, you’re truly missing one of Simmons‘ greatest performances, to date. He’s neurotic, angry and self-obsessed and it’s glorious. Seriously, watch it.
