Hi, M.D. here…

For the first time since 2004, the Beastie Boys dropped their 8th studio recorded album, “Hot Sauce Committee, Part Two” today, May 3rd.

The Beastie Boys posted the cover of their new album with the caption “MAY THREE, Y’all,” in a post on its website in mid-March. Later, they made this announcement about the release (which is still posted):

“Since the dawn of time, and perhaps even before, there was a silent order who were tasked with a mission. They held their secret tightly. On may 3rd the HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PART TWO will be unleashed on the general public. Hold fast ye heathens.”

Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1 was supposed to be the eighth studio album, intended to release September 15, 2009. It was put on hold when Adam “MCA” Yauch was diagnosed with cancer. Now Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2 is the eighth studio released album instead. Most of the songs from Part 1 ended up on this album including a collaboration with Nas, “Too Many Rappers” which was officially released by the New York trio in  September of 2009 and has been slightly altered for the new release.

Two songs were leaked online prior to the release date. One was old school funky song, ‘Make Some Noise’ and the other was a full-throttle punk jam ‘Lee Majors Come Again’, Mike D admits was not part of the “plan” on a post with the stream of the song.

The tracklist for “Hot Sauce Committee Part 2” is:

Tadlock’s Glasses
B-Boys In The Cut
Make Some Noise
Nonstop Disco Powerpack
OK
Too Many Rappers (featuring Nas)
Say It
The Bill Harper Collection
Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win (featuring Santigold)
Long Burn The Fire

Lee Majors Come Again
Multilateral Nuclear Disarmament
