It isn’t horror in the traditional sense, meaning there are no monsters hiding under the bed, unless you count the increasingly alarming state of the country. This is a different kind of horror. It’s the kind that is painfully real, unfolding across America and particularly in Texas, where the film was shot and takes place.
Henry talks about his character, his Texas roots, and his wonderfully complicated approach to playing people who tend to operate somewhere in that murky grey area between right and wrong. Naturally, we get into his considerable history with horror, including his work with Mike Flanagan, and, because civilization demands it, we talk about E.T. and what it’s like to have one of the most recognizable childhood performances in movie history follow you around for decades.
And then there’s Romeo, Henry’s pug, who makes an appearance because every great podcast eventually needs a dog. The moustache is glorious. Henry is fantastic. And the conversation gets surprisingly insightful, funny, personal, and very Texas.
