The network has granted creator David Shore’s wish for an early decision to allow him to give the series and its characters a proper ending. ‘House’ will end after its 8th season has aired.  Shore originally was hoping for a resolution by end of last year but he and the network “agreed mutually to put it off until after the first of the year.”

House had a great run on television.  Winning numerous awards in every category, being the top rated scripted series for most of its run, and being loved whole heartedly by its fans.  I know this show will be missed and I’m happy that the show will get a proper send off, rather than getting cancelled.
