In the world of reboots, ‘Predator‘ is a new one that can be put at the top of the list of “But why?” In all fairness, it’s labeled as both a reboot and a sequel, but it makes me happier to think about this film as a continuation of the first film. What the project does have going for it, is Shane Black has signed on to direct and Benicio Del Toro is eyeing the project to star.
Why is that a good thing? Well, Black actually appeared in the 1987 original project as a part of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s team and held a distinct position as the first to die at the hands of the Predator. Black is brilliant when it comes to writing and directing with being responsible for ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang‘, ‘Iron Man 3‘ and ‘The Nice Guys‘. With Del Toro attached, there’s no telling how this one will turn out, but I’ll be there to see it regardless.
