Hey guys, Jana here,
It’s almost time to get snuggled in for a movie night with those chatty, witty, hilarious and emotional Gilmore Girls. Of course I’m talking about the upcoming revival of the series that Netflix is engineering. While we know who is coming back to appear – everybody – and we know when it will debut – this year – we didn’t know what the official title would be…until now.
Lauren Graham popped into ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show‘ to spill the beans on that title and it’s perfectly fitting, ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life‘. It’s fitting because it spells out the premise of the new episodes, four 90-minute romps with each taking place during a different season of one year.
I know I said everybody was coming back, but if you need names, here goes – Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Melissa McCarthy, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena, Sean Gunn, Milo Ventimiglia, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Jared Padalecki and Yanic Truesdale. Told ya, everyone, of course we’re missing the patriarch of the Gilmore’s Edward Herrmann who passed away before the reunion was realized.
The trip from inspired idea to tour de force with fans digging for any detail of what to expect began filming in February and will continue to do so throughout the summer. Netflix knew what kind of gold they were dealing with when they discovered that creator Amy Sherman-Palladino had an idea to form a reunion, the streamer obtained the rights in October and confirmed the reunion in January and the hot streak has just continued right up until today and will likely continue until it’s debut.
