Hey guys, Jana here,
Among the female comedians in Hollywood, one name is attached to a comedy tour, a new stand-up special for HBO and writing, creating and starring in a new half-hour comedy series for the same cable giant – Whitney Cummings.
Cummings co-created CBS‘ ‘2 Broke Girls‘, which has just been renewed for it’s fifth season, also she created and starred in NBC’s ‘Whitney‘. Her new series, which HBO ordered a pilot for, is based off New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd’s 2005 book ‘Are Men Necessary? When Sexes Collide‘. The project is described as a comedic portrait of modern relationships. What feminism is and how it’s changed over the years, the series will use documentary elements, expert appearances and all the psycho-babble that speaks to our behavior and why we do and think the things we do.
Cummings is currently on a comedy tour in preparation for her first HBO comedy special which is set to film in the fall and air in 2016.
