Joss Whedon is always looking to push the bar higher and higher with his projects. This could not be more true with Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘. He hints and teases us with just a little new information at a time. This time, we know that means Deathlok is making an appearance. Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb confirmed that J. August Richards’ character, Mike Peterson, will become the cyborg. Loeb continued, “We’ve been leaving breadcrumbs along the way. This is a major Marvel character appearing on TV, on film for the first time.”

Besides the Deathlok announcement, Loeb told us that Bill Paxton is going to be joining for several episodes playing Agent John Garret. The obligatory Stan Lee cameo is coming up on the February 4th episode, as well. ‘Magic City’s‘ Elene Satine joins the cast as Lorelei. Lorelei is a villain from Thor’s home of Asgard. Lorelei will be facing off against Lady Sif, played by Jaime Alexander. Jeph Loeb continued “We set it up, now we’re going to pull the trigger.”

Lorelei is an ally of the treacherous Loki, Thor’s brother, hoping to win Thor’s love. Loki agrees to help but beginsan unforeseen game of identity thievery. As comic based tv goes, there are a million paths this show can take from here.
