Hi, Bryan Here….
I think everyone in Hollywood wants to make a Peter Pan film. There are currently at least three Pan films in development at the moment to add to the treasure trove of plays, movies, tv series, and games that center around the boy who could fly, fight , and crow. This time around, Warner Bros. is picking up the Pan rights, and British filmmaker Joe Wright will direct the project.
Wright is known for making period pieces, mostly with Keira Knightley. You know the films, that you will only see once such as, ‘Pride and Prejudice‘, ‘Atonement‘, ‘Anna Karenina‘ and ‘The Soloist‘. My favorite film of his was the sleeper hit ‘Hanna‘, which is all sorts of cool. This particular Peter Pan film will be an origin movie. Think ‘Batman Begins‘, but for Peter Pan.
Greg Berlanti of CW’s ‘Arrow‘ is producing with Jason Fuchs writing the script. Fuchs, which is not just an AWESOME name, was an actor, who has focused his talents on writing, and recently wrote one of the ‘Ice Age‘ films. Warner Bros. is making this a priority film, and I bet Wright will want Keira Knightley in it somewhere.
BANGARANG!!
