Hi, Bryan Here…
Here is the first of two films that is based on the porn phenomenon Linda Lovelace (Amanda Seyfried), who rose to superstardom in the early 70s with the film ‘Deep Throat‘. This biopic film of Linda Boreman could’ve been a disaster, but directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman made an engaging and entertaining look at Boreman’s life, even if at times her situations are difficult to watch. The acting is spot on for everyone in this film with a killer retro soundtrack. With a surprising wider release than I thought this little film would have, I expect a decent box office draw.

Seyfried brings to life Linda Lovelace. She is elegant, pretty, and damn fun to watch. She captures the emotional depth of this sad tale. Sarsgaard pulls off one of the slimiest characters ever put on film. Not once do you like this guy. Sharon Stone is the wild card here, as she is physically unrecognizable, but gives one hell of a supporting performance. Cannavale, Azaria turn in hilarious performances with cameos by Franco, Wes Bentley, Eric Roberts, Adam Brody, and Juno Temple.
‘Lovelace‘ is a great little film that could be put at the top with any of the other great biopic pictures.
