FX got Jason Patric to lead the new series ‘Powers’ based on the comic book by Brian Michael Bendis and Micahel Avon Oeming.  I loved the comic book and it has recently started a new series.  The set up is that it takes place in a world where super heroes and super powers are common and follows two police detectives Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim who investigate homicides related with super powers.

Filming will begin later on this summer in Chicago and if the pilot gets picked up, which I have no doubt it will, this will mark Patric’s first tv ongoing series gig.  Jason Patric was the older brother Mike in the 80’s vampire film ‘The Lost Boys’.  I think by this being on FX, it will be great considering it is more of an adult comic.  Looking forward to seeing this.
