Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester are returning to Cinemax for a second season of the hit Strike Back! The season will debut in 2012 after shooting on location in South Africa.

Strike Back chronicles the story of a former US Special Forces officer who joins a British stealth unit while an international terrorist ring plots a huge attack. The drama is set deep in the world of counter-terrorism and covers many global issues relating to the subject.

Stapleton and Winchester’s characters are close friends whose relationship makes up the backbone of the show. It has been described as a “simmering life-or-death bromance” by the Los Angeles Times, a term that I’m sure makes the fangirls go crazy.

The new season will be ten episodes long and be part of the casual viewer’s Friday nights.
