The system already supports 3D gaming, but 3D Blu-ray support comes next week.

On September 21, Sony will be launching PlayStation 3 firmware update 3.50, which will allow the system to play Blu-ray discs. It’s a free update, of course, and it’s a pretty slick addition that keeps the PS3 at the top when considered as a value proposition. For about $300 you get a videogame system that’s also plays 3D Blu-rays.

I hate to say it buy Kudos to Sony for being AWESOME in all these updates and leading the home video world into 3-D.

Now we need to to get the 3-D television prices down some more and have more than two movies on blu ray that are in 3-D.

I wonder if this 3-D  thing is just a fad or if it is here to stick around.  What do you think?
