Check Out the Trailer for ‘Hunger Games’!!!
by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 2nd, 2012Hi Bryan Here….
Have you read ‘Hunger Games’? Do you know what ’Hunger Games’ is about? If not you’re in for a real treat. ’Hunger Games’ is based on a trilogy of novels by Suzanne Collins. It’s geared towards young adults. The premise is a whole lot like ‘Battle Royale’ where a group of young kids or teenagers are picked in a lottery system to battle each other in a designated area until there is only one survivor. One difference is that it takes place in a post apocalyptic future world. It all seems too cartoonyAnd it seems that upon its release, it will have the IMAX treatment for one week. I can see people enjoy this film, but I can guarantee it will hold not candle to Battle Royale. Enjoy the trailer.
Catch the Trailer for ‘Project X’!!! I already wish I was There!!!
by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 20th, 2012Hi Bryan Here…..
Director Todd Phillips (Hangover/Old School/Road Trip) is producing this new film called ‘Project X’ which is looking like ‘Superbad x’s 1000 mixed with Jackass. If Todd does anything well, it’s films about parties and hangovers. And this seems to be the ultimate party film. It looks insane and way funny. Enjoy the trailer.
Here’s the Trailer for the Next ‘Resident Evil’ Film!!! Retribution!!!
by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 19th, 2012Hi Bryan Here….
Another year, another ‘Resident Evil’ film. What number are they on now?? 5000? Well this one is called ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’. And Paul W.S. Anderson is back in the director’s chair, this time with the unkillable Milla Jovovich and badass Michelle Rodriguez running around stomping zombies. I must say, that this trailer looks a bit decent compared to the last couple of films. You be the judge.

Trailer Analysis – Catch .44
by Justin Cline on Nov 20th, 2011After watching this trailer, my question is this: is Catch .44 really a movie? Or is it an ad for a new game show entitled Mexican Stand-off, where each contestant is given a deadly weapon and a disturbing piece of info about one or more of their fellow contestants before being pushed into a room with them? Trailer Analysis – Being Flynn
by Justin Cline on Nov 19th, 2011It’s so hard to imagine why Hollywood would want to change the title of the memoir that provides the basis for Being Flynn. I cannot fathom the individual who wouldn’t want to see a movie called Another Bullshit Night in Suck City. Read the rest of this entry »
Trailer Analysis – Don’t Go In the Woods
by Justin Cline on Nov 18th, 2011Our next trailer is for what appears to be a strange hybrid of rock and roll and horrorshow entitled Don’t Go In The Woods.
Trailer Analysis – Mirror Mirror vs. Snow White and the Huntsman
by Justin Cline on Nov 17th, 2011Hollywood has a rich tradition of releasing competing movie projects at virtually the same time. Armageddon squared off against Deep Impact. Before that, Big duked it out with Vice Versa and roughly 87 other body-swapping comedies, the last of which was kept on a shelf until finally being released earlier this year (The Change-Up). So it is that two studios have set their sights on updated interpretations of Snow White, currently scheduled to be released with 3 months of each other. Read the rest of this entry »
Trailer Analysis – The Hunger Games
by Justin Cline on Nov 17th, 2011Translating a book–especially a popular one–to the big screen is a tricky thing. If you’re in need of confirmation on this, just look to the Harry Potter series, where the movies were just as often accused of getting it wrong as they were praised for getting it right. Should the filmmakers be more concerned with producing a good movie or being slavishly reverent to the source material? That’s a difficult question to answer. For my money, the film must be able to stand on its own while not entirely disavowing the core of what made it popular in the first place. The cast and crew must continuously walk a fine line between winning over a new audience and alienating the old one.
That having been said, let’s take a look at the most recent trailer for The Hunger Games. Read the rest of this entry »
