Hi, Bryan Here….

This might be bittersweet to some of you. It is to me. Over recent months, EA has been a hot topic in the video game community, and not in a good way. With their failed release of the new Sim City and their customers not being treated well, I’d imagine a lot of us will be less than thrilled about this. But EA Games has teamed up with Disney and ‘Star Wars’ to release video games exclusively under their banner.

Hi, Bryan Here….

original

Since Disney now has all the rights to George Lucas‘ work under Lucas pictures, which includes the epic ‘Star Wars‘ franchise, they are fast tracking tons of ‘Star Wars‘ projects for future releases.  We all know that J.J. Abrams will be directing Episode VII and actually has Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher returning to reprise their roles for the sequels.  Even better news, Disney is finally listening to the fans, something Lucas never did, and are finally releasing the original trilogy on blu-ray in their original and unaltered versions as they were seen over 30 years ago.

Hi, Bryan Here….

leiaceremony

That’s right, folks. Carrie Fisher has just confirmed that she will reprise her role as Princess Leia for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming new ‘Star Wars‘ film. Fisher is now 56 and said that she will be in at least one more ‘Star Wars‘ picture, with the possibility of more. As we previously reported, Harrison Ford, has already signed on to play Han Solo again, and now we are awaiting word for Mark Hamill and Billy Dee Williams to sign contracts as well.

Hi, Bryan Here….

War Horse - UK Premiere

Producer Kathleen Kennedy has left the ‘Jurassic Park 4‘ production to work on the new ‘Star Wars‘ films with J.J. Abrams. Kennedy has been a producer for a very long time and has produced almost all of Steven Spielberg’s films amongst others. Movie Mogul Frank Marshall tweeted today, @LeDoctor: Ms. Kennedy has moved onto ‘Star Wars‘ and will not be producing Jurassic Park 4‘. She’s traded raptors for TIE fighters.

We are hearing reports that Disney has made a deal with Harrison Ford to reprise his role as Han Solo one last time for the upcoming ‘Star Wars‘ films, which are being helmed by J.J. Abrams. Now we all know that Ford has said in the past that he will never do this role again, but looks like he has changed his mind.  I mean, why wouldn’t he?

Hi, Bryan Here….

portal_noescape

J.J. Abrams has just teamed up with video game company, Valve to develop future projects based on their video games. Abrams’ production banner, Bad Robot will help develop these projects, which is to start fairly soon. Valve is known mostly for their games, ‘Half-Life‘, ‘Portal‘, and ‘Left 4 Dead‘. And not only will they develop films together, but also new video games. I’m calling a future ‘Star Trek‘ or ‘Star Wars‘ game for Valve in the coming years.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Good news, everyone.  Disney and Lucas Film have decided to scrap the future releases of the original ‘Star Wars‘ films in 3D.  Thank the gods for this one.  As we previously reported a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, Lucas was re-releasing the original ‘Star Wars‘ film in 3D in theaters, starting with ‘Episode I: The Phantom Menace‘.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Say it isn’t so folks.  J.J. Abrams is moving from ‘Star Trek‘ to ‘Star Wars‘ according to sources close to Lucas film and Abrams. “It’s done deal with J.J.,” said a source close to the project.  Interesting enough, Ben Affleck was being looked at to helm the next film as well, but Kathleen Kennedy (who is a big collaborator with Lucas and Spielberg), heavily courted Abrams for the gig.

Zack Snyder, the director behind ‘Watchmen‘, ‘300‘, ‘Sucker Punch‘, and the upcoming ‘Man of Steel‘ film has said he does not want to  direct the next installment of the ‘Star Wars‘ franchise.  However, he is developing a separate project of the ‘Star Wars‘ franchise in the same universe for Disney and Lucas Film, although not directly a part of the next ‘Star Wars‘ film according to Vulture.  It is supposed to be a film about the Jedi and will be loosely based on Akira Kurosawa’sSeven Samurai‘ film from 1954.

‘Angry Birds’ Coming to Theaters in 2016!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 11th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

I have never once played ‘Angry Birds‘.  So, I’m not up to speed on the whole storyline or even gameplay.  I do know that it is one of the most popular game apps though.  And it was only a matter of time before it was developed into a major motion picture.  The game has been available for three years now and John Cohen (‘Despicable Me‘) will produce a 3D CG animated feature film of ‘Angry Birds‘ for summer of 2016.  Rovio Entertainment announced that David Masiel (‘Iron Man‘) will executive produce.
