Disney and Marvel did a little bit of juggling today when a poor version of next summer’s anticipated blockbuster sequel, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ was the target of a leaked trailer. Their response to the non-sanctioned release? Giving us an official version! ABC’s ‘Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ was going to be the host for the hotly anticipated superhero flick less than a week from now, but an insider jumped the gun. Regardless of how it was released, it has gone viral and will be one of the most-searched-for trailers for a while, now.

Vinnie Jones Co-stars On The CW’s ‘Arrow’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Oct 20th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

Arrow

Where Marvel-based comic book films have the leading edge over DC-based films, with character introduction and cross-branding, especially  when you take into the post-film stinger that we’ve all learned to wait for, but DC does have a strong point over Marvel with TV serials. I know, Marvel is getting into the small-screen game, too, but it’s no match for DC’s proven titles that have been drawing in crowds from the beginning. Where Marvel didn’t get into the series racket until 1974 with ‘Super Spidey Stories‘ that aired during small segments of ‘The Electric Company‘, DC began in the 1950’s and has kept producing through the decades.

Hey guys, Jana here,

When it comes to Marvel comic-to-movie VS. DC comic-to-movie transformations, Marvel has a clear leading edge with interlaced storylines and sheer numbers that have been released. It pains me to type that because I am a DC fan. HUGE fan of DC characters, the heroes and their amazing villains. To me, the villains are absolute top notch and beat out anything Marvel can throw out. The colors, the histories, the wicked laughs and plots are perfectly my brand of crazy. Among these vivid characters that leap off the pages are Two-Face, Lex Luthor, Harley Quinn and of course, The Joker.

Marvel Entertainment now has a full fledged rival with Warner Bros. and DC Comics. Warner Bros. and DC Comics has just announced all of its superhero films through 2020, plus a few Lego films and new ‘Harry Potter‘ movies. Needless to say, the theaters are going to be packed and each studio is going to be vying for the top box office placement and receipts.

Dallas Fan Days 2014 Is Upon Us!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 15th, 2014

Hey everyone, Black Mariah here…

12369750794_55f486c4f1_z

I am ramping up for this weekend’s inevitable epic event, Dallas Comic Con’s Fan Days. Since attending my first convention nearly 9 years ago (great story, I ran into Corey Feldman. Literally.) I have had the opportunity to attend conventions from both coasts, and truly, no one puts on a great convention multiple times a year like they do it in Dallas. I mean nobody.

CBS Taking ‘Supergirl’ On for Series Commitment!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Sep 19th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

CBS has fashioned a red cape for itself and jumping into the superhero world. Writers Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler have just hit a stroke of good luck by selling their version of ‘Supergirl‘ to the network. Working under the Berlanti Productions banner with Warner Bros. Television will be exec produced by Berlanti, Adler and Sarah Schechter. We’ve reported a few weeks ago that this was a proposed option, but it is now guaran-damn-teed. Color me happy.

Hey guys, Jana here,

scot-glenn-stick-header

We’ve talked in the past about how Marvel is delving into every facet of entertainment and/or marketing positions they can with their wide-spread character base. I’ve also told you how the next Netflix produced series is going to be Marvel’s first foray with the pay-tv company. Next year, we’ve been told to expect ‘Daredevil‘ to be available for you to put it in queue. We know quite a few of the major players in the drama set in Hell’s Kitchen, but that doesn’t mean we’ve met everyone that’s going to be involved.

Hey guys, Jana here,

When Roland Emmerich’s name is mentioned, it’s usually attached to a feature film that is underway, has wrapped or being promoted. This isn’t the case. Emmerich is directing and exec producing ‘New Angeles‘, by comic book writer Gregg Hurwitz, for the small screen. This is a new project combining Slingshot Global Media, Emmerich’s Centropolis banner and Keanu Reeves and Stephen Hamel of Company Films. The best-selling novelist and comic book writer, Hurwitz will write the script but also have an exec producer position. “Gregg is an incredibly imaginative writer, and I’m looking forward to bringing his ideas for the show to life,” Emmerich said. “It’s exciting to get the opportunity (to) bring a massive project like this to the small screen with a rapidly changing television space.”

Attention Batfans, Jana here,

20140621085640!Batman_Arkham_Knight_Cover_Art

I’m a bonafide Batfan from way back when Wonder Woman and Batgirl were on my knickers. This includes all things batty. Not like regular animal bats, because that would just be weird, or at the very least, awkward. If you call your pad the Batcave and you’re a Batman fan, all is well, if you call it the Batcave because it’s full of real bats, you might need to spend some time in Arkham Asylum. Don’t worry, it’s perfectly safe…er…well usually.
