Hey guys, Jana here,

CBS has fashioned a red cape for itself and jumping into the superhero world. Writers Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler have just hit a stroke of good luck by selling their version of ‘Supergirl‘ to the network. Working under the Berlanti Productions banner with Warner Bros. Television will be exec produced by Berlanti, Adler and Sarah Schechter. We’ve reported a few weeks ago that this was a proposed option, but it is now guaran-damn-teed. Color me happy.

Hey guys, Jana here,

We’ve talked in the past about how Marvel is delving into every facet of entertainment and/or marketing positions they can with their wide-spread character base. I’ve also told you how the next Netflix produced series is going to be Marvel’s first foray with the pay-tv company. Next year, we’ve been told to expect ‘Daredevil‘ to be available for you to put it in queue. We know quite a few of the major players in the drama set in Hell’s Kitchen, but that doesn’t mean we’ve met everyone that’s going to be involved.

Hey guys, Jana here,

When Roland Emmerich’s name is mentioned, it’s usually attached to a feature film that is underway, has wrapped or being promoted. This isn’t the case. Emmerich is directing and exec producing ‘New Angeles‘, by comic book writer Gregg Hurwitz, for the small screen. This is a new project combining Slingshot Global Media, Emmerich’s Centropolis banner and Keanu Reeves and Stephen Hamel of Company Films. The best-selling novelist and comic book writer, Hurwitz will write the script but also have an exec producer position. “Gregg is an incredibly imaginative writer, and I’m looking forward to bringing his ideas for the show to life,” Emmerich said. “It’s exciting to get the opportunity (to) bring a massive project like this to the small screen with a rapidly changing television space.”

Attention Batfans, Jana here,

20140621085640!Batman_Arkham_Knight_Cover_Art

I’m a bonafide Batfan from way back when Wonder Woman and Batgirl were on my knickers. This includes all things batty. Not like regular animal bats, because that would just be weird, or at the very least, awkward. If you call your pad the Batcave and you’re a Batman fan, all is well, if you call it the Batcave because it’s full of real bats, you might need to spend some time in Arkham Asylum. Don’t worry, it’s perfectly safe…er…well usually.

Supergirl Added To Stable Of TV Supes!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Sep 6th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

Supergirl_Vol_6_14

If you think about superhero television shows, or if you’re like me, you think of the dreck that was ‘Lois and Clark‘, ‘Mutant X‘, or ‘The Tick‘?  If it’s not one of those shows, then it’s probably something equally abysmal. With the resurgence of super-powered peeps making such an excellent showing at the box office – because why would they be creating so frakking many of them if they weren’t making some serious coin? So it stands to reason that the small screen is looking for new hit projects in the same vein.

Hey guys, Jana here,

The-Walking-Dead-04-cast

We’ve heard the rumors, we’ve hoped for it and it looks like it’s finally here. Of course, I’m talking about a ‘Walking Dead‘ companion series. AMC has finally given the project a greenlight with a pilot written by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson. This venture could not be in better hands as Kirkman is ‘Walking Dead’ alumni, and Erickson has been kicking-ass writing for ‘Sons of Anarchy‘.

We don’t know a ton of details at the moment, but the pilot is set in the very same post zombie-apocalypse world as we’ve come to to expect weekly from ‘Walking Dead‘ but we will see all new entirely characters in a different location. Sounds more and more like just an extra time slot to air another ‘Walking Dead‘.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Dwayne Johnson

If you smell what The Rock is cooking, it might be something from DC Comics. After months of speculation and rumors about what major character the former WWE champion will play in the upcoming DC Comics films, The Rock took to Twitter to announce his character. He will be playing Black Adam.

Hey fanboys and girls, Jana here,

Everyone remember the hype surrounding the new prequel series ‘Gotham‘? We’ve been inundated with teasers, internet ads, and just in general talking about how awesome, or un-awesome (is that a word?) it’s going to be. I want to be hopeful, because I’m a huge fan of the bat. Love the world of Gotham City and it’s dark, iniquitous, sullen tones. I’ve always loved the Tim Burton version of the Batman films, don’t get me wrong, Nolan’s flicks were excellent in that they gave me the action I crave. But I like how the first set of movies make him a real character and not either just a 40-pack a day smoker in a cowl, or an asshole.

Film Review: ‘Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 21st, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

sin-city-2-a-dame-to-kill-for-eva-green-ava-lord

Second verse, same as the first. It’s been almost ten years since Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller brought us the noir-soaked graphic novels known to comic book fans around the world as ‘Sin City‘, which was created by Miller himself. This seedy, ultra violent, and nasty underworld, where crime is rampant and the bad guys end up on top of this booze drenched and drug induced city is the backdrop for some of the most entertaining characters in ever to come out of a graphic novel.

Hey guys, Jana here,

sharlto_copley_michelle_forbes_a_l

At the end of last week, we brought you a story that featured some casting news for Sony Playstation Network’s first foray into the original programming world. You can read that story, here. Today, we have more casting info.

Sharlto Copley has been in back and forth negotiations to star in the series based on the graphic novel. Copley is an excellent actor and one of my favorite things about the ‘A-Team‘ movie in 2010. His turn as Murdock was so inspired and hilarious, I could watch him all day. I still make jokes about any food that tastes a little off as having been grilled by Murdock with his special sauce (antifreeze). Most recently he was seen in ‘Maleficent‘ as Stefan, there are two films in a post-production phase right now that are set to come out in 2015.
