Metallica: Through the Never announces itself as an explosive, visceral experience from the very first scene: an overhead helicopter shot of the city, riding high over a thoroughfare that leads us to the stadium, coming down to ground level, glimpsing a fan or two, then following a young skater kid down to the depths of the arena where he begins an unforgettable night as roadie for the band. This sequence is so chock-full of filmmaking prowess that one instantly realizes we’re in for a ride of visual delights. The film lives up to that opening sequence and then some.

There’s Gonna Be A ‘Fight Club’ Sequel!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 23rd, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here…

Tyler-fight-club-736832_1024_768

The first rule about ‘Fight Club‘ sequels is you don’t talk about ‘Fight Club‘ sequels. This past weekend at San Diego Comic Con, author Chuck Palahniuk signed copies of his upcoming novel titled ‘Doomed‘ as well as head a panel up where he answered many questions for his adoring fans. Well, one of those questions was geared toward what he is working on next.

DIFF Film Review: ‘Jump’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 8th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

pr36697-2-jump-directed-by-kieron-j-walsh

Hailing from Ireland, Kieron J. Walsh’sJump‘ is a dark and twisted tale with elements of comedy that will attract the indie-film crowd at first glance, but loses its appeal very fast. You can tell that Walsh has a passion for the movie business and a true love of cinema, as he pays homage to several styles of filmmaking throughout the picture, however the several different story lines that intersect in a ‘Pulp Fiction‘ like way do not have enough time on screen for anyone to develop a relationship with the characters.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Good news for your Tarantino fans out there.  Actually, I don’t know whether to be happy or angry about this.  Lionsgate and Miramax are releasing a big Tarantino movie set on bluray on November 20th.  It will contain 8 films and two bonus discs.  This kind of sucks, because I imagine most of us already own all of these on bluray already individually.  Now we have to purchase all of these again.  And, why are the ‘Kill Bill’ films not in one film like we have been promised for years now.  I will admit, the artwork is cool from MondoTees, but I can’t justify purchasing this, for two extra bonus discs.  These look to be the same blurays that we already have.  And why did they not wait till next year to release this, so they could include ‘Django Unchained’?    Official press release below.

Hi, Bryan Here….

The Toronto Film Festival is coming up quickly and it looks like it is going to be one for the books.  ‘Looper’ is going to open up the festival with several other centerpiece films that strike my fancy.  Two of them include Joss Whedon’s Shakespeare film ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, and Terrence Malick’s new film, ‘To The Wonder’.  Can’t wait.  Below is the official press release.  Who’s going? Piers Handling, CEO and Director of TIFF, and Cameron Bailey, Artistic Director of the Toronto International Film Festival, made the first announcement of films to premiere at the 37th Toronto International Film Festival. Films announced include titles in the Galas and Special Presentations programmes. The announced films include 17 Galas and 45 Special Presentations, including 38 world premieres.

Hi Bryan Here…..

Director Todd Phillips (Hangover/Old School/Road Trip) is producing this new film called ‘Project X’ which is looking like ‘Superbad x’s 1000 mixed with Jackass.  If Todd does anything well, it’s films about parties and hangovers.  And this seems to be the ultimate party film.  It looks insane and way funny.  Enjoy the trailer.
