Bryan’s Top 20 Films of 2012!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 31st, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

I can’t believe that 2012 is at its end and we are about to welcome 2013.  This year has gone by so fast, and man, did I see tons of films.  When I started making this 2012 list, I came up with 87 films that I enjoyed.  Yes, you read that right, 87, meaning there were probably just as many films that I didn’t enjoy.  Now, below is my top 20 of the year. I just couldn’t do it with 10 this year.  And these are films that I watched in the theater or at home and that don’t necessarily come out this year, but I did see this year.  And I’m sure I’ll get a lot of criticism for my list, but hey this is my list, not yours.  You can have your own.  But my lists tend to be different than most people’s as you can tell from my previous lists HERE. So without any further delay, below is my TOP 20 films for 2012.

Bryan Reviews ‘Prometheus’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 14th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

“In space no one can hear you scream.”

We have all been hearing about a movie called ‘Prometheus’ for sometime now, and all of us fans have been trying to piece the puzzle together on what it has to do with Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien’ film.  Since Scott directed ‘Prometheus’ and the original ‘Alien’ film, there has to be some sort of connection from what we have seen from the trailers, right?  The filmmakers told us that ‘Prometheus’ would be a prequel to the ‘Alien’ film.  After seeing ‘Prometheus’, I can say that it’s a very early prequel.  I’m  certainly happy Scott returned to this universe, because the ‘Alien’ franchise has been in a state of decay for a number of years starting with the 4th installment and then onto the ‘Alien vs. Predator’ series.  So, I was truly hoping to get an original film, but with strong ties to the ‘Alien’ franchise.  The question is, did it work?

FedMex Here….

If you like to be taken completely off guard by a film when you go into it, you might want to stop reading now.  I’ll try to stay away from  giving too much away, but Drive was an experience that I was completely unprepared for, and I’m much happier that I came in knowing nothing before watching this.  Let’s see what happened…

Hi Bryan Here…

NASA has come out with  a list of the most absurd and the most plausible sci-fi movies that could potentially happen and are the most realistic and then the latter which would be the films that could never happen and are completely ridiculous.  I am suspecting that they did this not only for fun, but possibly for some certain people that actually think the world is going to end come the end of 2012.

Inception Blu-Ray Details

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 3rd, 2010

Info is starting to trickle out about the Blu-Ray release of the amazing film “Inception”.  Now the U.K. has a release date of December 6th for “Inception” which means at any point now Warner Bros. will announce the U.S.A. release.  Judging by the U.K. release, The Blu-ray will come with the Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack plus a digital copy.  Then also a limited edition briefcase like the one they carry throughout the movie.  Blade Runner did this with their Hi-Def release and it is Out of Print already and is all sorts of BADASS!  The briefcase edition comes with the above mentioned discs plus art cards from the movie, a booklet and the toy spinning top from the film.  Also a standard regular dvd release is expected.  Hopefully we in the U.S.A will get something like this or better.  No word on extras yet.  Briefcase Edition here I come.  I can’t help myself.
