Film Review: ‘After Earth’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 30th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

After-Earth-Movie-Trailer-photo

After Earth‘ has a ton of good things going for it. We have Will Smith who has the largest box office draw in the business right now and his son Jaden Smith who has proven he has decent acting chops and can secure a decent crowd. This film also has a post apocalyptic scenario in the sci-fi genre that takes place on different planets in the far off future. Did I mention that it also has aliens, spaceships, and cool weaponry too? This is a perfect recipe for a potential massive summer blockbuster that could make over $1 billion. Despite these seemingly cool aspects, ‘After Earth‘ comes up short and never fully delivers the movie it should be.

BRIDGE – Chapter Nineteen

by Justin Cline on Apr 25th, 2012

CHAPTER NINETEEN

By the eighth Mississippi, Bridge had his map back in hand and a good idea of where he was headed.  It must have been a long walk from the cemetery to The Bethany for a man who’d been forced to vacate his own grave, but in the van it was a short ride from their current location to the outskirts of the city.  The hope in making the trip was to find something—anything—at the gravesite that would point him forward in the investigation.  Between himself and the cat, they had killed off all other viable leads. Hi Bryan Here…

It is finally here.  The final ten films of the list.  The top ten films of the decade.  It was blast making this list and remembering all those memories of seeing the movies for the first time.  It makes me want to watch a lot of them again.  These top 10 films were extremely difficult to place, but alas it was accomplished.  I hope you enjoy the finished list.  As usual, you will get the title of the film, the release date, a mini review and synopsis by yours truly, and a link to purchase the movie over at amazon for a good price.  Feel free to leave comments of your lists or to disagree or agree with mine.

Director M. Night Shyamalan has announced that he will be directing another sci-fi film recently.  Shyamalan’s work as of recently has not been well received and for good reason.

M. Night gave us Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs.  All magnificent achievements in filmmaking.  But his recent efforts such as: The Lady in the Water and The Last Airbender have been nothing short of AWFUL.

So it seems he is going to direct a film which he has not written (very strange since he has written pretty much everything he has directed) over at Will Smith’s production company and studios Overbrook which might lend a hand to get Will Smith or his son Jayden smith to star in this film.

The movie he is looking to direct is called 1,000 A.E.  This reminds me of that animated film that came out years ago called Titan A.E.  A.E. stand for After Earth.  Joss Whedon wrote that movie.

The film has already been written by Gary Whitta who wrote The Book of Eli.

Although nothing is really known about this movie yet.

What are your thoughts?
