Series guru Ryan Murphy is readying ‘American Crime Story‘, his latest anthology offering, that will air nowhere but FX. The first story the show will tell is ‘The People v. O.J. Simpson‘, the event that spawned the 24-hour news cycle, reality television and the slowest police chase in written history.

Podcast #55 – Oscars and ‘Series 7’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 2nd, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

1424717310_oscar-winners-467

Podcast #55 is finally here, and it was a fun-as-hell show.  We did a remote podcast from the deep dark dungeons of the ‘Angelika Film Center’ this week, where we had a full house. Our own Gwen Reyes from FreshFictionTv was here along with Susan Kamyab from ThisChixFlix, Gadi Elkon from SeligFilmNews, Adam Conway from the Angelika Film Center , Andrew Conway, and myself. We discuss a few films that were released in theaters, our reactions and thoughts on the Oscars, and discussed the 2001 film ‘Series 7‘, which we highly recommend. We also Re-Cast the film if it were made today. It got crazy. And please let us know what you think by going to our FACEBOOK page and TWITTER page, which you should visit to catch up on all the latest information. And don’t forget to visit iTunes and Stitcher to subscribe to our podcast. Enjoy the show and see you next week! Thank you for listening.

Josh Gad Teaming Up With Disney Again!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 26th, 2014

Hello, Jana here,

8065JoshGad800

When we talk about ‘Frozen‘ a few things probably jump to mind. Be it the icy tundra it’s set in, the fantastic, albeit overplayed ‘Let it Go‘, or the comic relief that is either Olaf the hug-loving snowman or how John Travolta stumbled over the name Idina Menzel during the Academy Awards that created memes and quizzes as far as the eye could see.

The Top 10 Gangster Movie List!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 19th, 2014

Jana B. here,

GangsterListBANNER

Some girls are all into sappy romances or heart touchingly saccharine-sweet movies. Movies that sometime contain a troubled family learning to love a curmudgeonly, absent  grandparent, or a shattered family recovering from the death of one of its immediate member. Sometimes it’s a pet that waltzes, unexpectedly, into a tumultuous atmosphere that teaches everyone to love more before it’s killed in some unimaginative way.

I hate movies like that. I hate books like that and I hate songs like that. If a member of a family is killed, it better be a mafia family, and I get to look forward to their violent, bloody and evil retribution.  I am so fascinated by the inner workings of these ‘families’. I love to see the fronts they use to launder their income and imagine ways I would do it if I was involved.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Good news for your Tarantino fans out there.  Actually, I don’t know whether to be happy or angry about this.  Lionsgate and Miramax are releasing a big Tarantino movie set on bluray on November 20th.  It will contain 8 films and two bonus discs.  This kind of sucks, because I imagine most of us already own all of these on bluray already individually.  Now we have to purchase all of these again.  And, why are the ‘Kill Bill’ films not in one film like we have been promised for years now.  I will admit, the artwork is cool from MondoTees, but I can’t justify purchasing this, for two extra bonus discs.  These look to be the same blurays that we already have.  And why did they not wait till next year to release this, so they could include ‘Django Unchained’?    Official press release below.

Bryan Reviews Oliver Stone’s ‘Savages’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 6th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

After a few years of getting a softer side of Oliver Stone, Savages brings the director back to his ultra violent, drug induced, sex crazed, and savage side.  Based on Don Winslow’s novel, Savages tells an intense tale of drugs, sex, and betrayal.  I really missed this side of Oliver Stone.  I’ve been hoping for a film that can be put in the same cookie jar as Natural Born Killers, Platoon, and U Turn.  Instead, we have received films like Wall Street 2: Electric Boogaloo, W., and World Trade Center.  By far not his best work nor interesting.  So the big question is, “Did Oliver Stone deliver the goods on his return to a more sadistic film?”

MGM Offers Iconic ‘Carrie’ Role to Chloe Moretz!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 27th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

It looks like actress Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass/Hugo) will be taking on the iconic role of ‘Carrie’ in the remake by Kim Pierce.  The decision was made after a group of actresses sat down for a table read and Chloe did so well, they formally offered her the role today.  ‘Carrie’ is a remake of the Brian De Palma version based on the 1974 Stephen King novel of the same name.

Hi Bryan Here…..

Disney’s ‘Bolt’ arrives on 3D Blu-ray and packs an extraordinary punch with its amazing video and sound.  Not to mention the story for the most part is terrific.  It almost seems that ‘Bolt’, while being strictly a Disney animated film, has a hint of that ‘Pixar’ awesomeness in it.  I was pleasantly surprised by this film on how great it was.  My advice is to pick up ‘Bolt’.  You will be happy you did.

Classic Waxxx: “Top Ten Records of Summer”

by NapkinArt on Aug 5th, 2011

If you live in the south, especially Texas right now, you know how brutal Summer has been this year, probably one of the hottest in recent memory. Extreme drought, rolling blackouts, wild fires and dying vegetation and cattle seem to be making things quite miserable for everyone affected. From the looks of it, there is no relief in sight anytime soon. However, with that said there is no reason you still can’t enjoy the remainder of the summer. There are plenty of days left to hang out by the pool, sip on an ice cold glass or two of lemonade (or beer, if you prefer) and listen to some of the best songs ever recorded for those lazy Summer days. Gloria Cleary:
Jeremy... I'm not wearin' any panties. Let's rock!
[Gloria spins her hair around]
Jeremy Grey:
Ok. Ok. That was nice. I don't understand what's going on. It's like, eight hours ago you were a shy little virgin, and now you're not wearing any panties. I'm just trying to catch up with you here.
Gloria Cleary:
You do that to me? Ooh...
[she grabs Jeremy's crotch]
Gloria Cleary:
Where's my little friend? Where's my little friend?
Jeremy Grey:
[panicking] He's tired! He's tired! He's in time-out! He's in time-out!
