Hey guys, Jana here,

jason_segel_drew_pearce

The success of ‘The Lego Movie‘ ignited a storm of sequels that Warner Bros. have slated for production including ‘Ninjago‘ in 2016, ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ the following year in 2017 and ‘The Lego Movie 2‘ in 2018, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for one more spinoff based on the yellow blocky people, ‘Billion Brick Race‘.

Top 10 Horribly Cheesy Scenes in Otherwise Decent Movies!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 30th, 2015

Paul N., Here…

DirtyDancing3-lg

I am not claiming that all of the following movies are cinematic works of art. Some of these films might be considered mediocre at best. However, they do all have one thing in common; all of them suffer from having that one scene that takes audiences out of the moment and makes them groan in disbelief.  This list includes movies that were meant to be taken seriously. So over-the-top comedies and machismo action flicks will not be found as they are created with the intent of being ridiculous.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

445517

Warner Bros. are trying yet again to revive the Looney Tune franchise. They’ve had moderate success over the past decade with a couple of feature films, and a new series, but they have not come close to making a big blockbuster hit like they used to. But that might all change, considering the talent they have behind this revamp, which they hope to turn a franchise out of it.

Hi, Bryan Here….

movies_main_the_toxic_avenger_poster

I never thought I’d write this sentence, but Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently in talks to star in the reboot of Troma’sToxic Avenger’ film. This project will be introduced to potential buys at Cannes this year of all places. I didn’t think Cannes would take any Troma film. But it looks like this re-imaging of ‘Toxic Avenger‘ will be a big budget project. Steve Pink is taking the reins of the film. Pink directed ‘Hot Tub Time Machine‘ and will direct the sequel. This is odd, but amazing news.

Misty Here….

D&D Basic Mentzer

All the geeks of the world can now rejoice. Warner Brothers has now acquired the rights to create a new movie based off Dungeons and Dragons, the game we all played in school but are ashamed to admit to as adults. The script, called “Chainmail” is already in the works headed by David Leslie Johnson (‘Wrath of the Titans‘). This script was acquired last year as a free-standing project for another game that D& D creators Gary Gynex and Dave Ameson also created. It is now being redone to fit for D & D crowd and being produced by “The Lego Movie” producers Roy Lee and Courtney Solomon. You will remember that Solomon produced the 2000 Dungeons and Dragons film that starred Jeremy Irons. Hopefully, this new one will be better than that hot mess.

Film Review: ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 16th, 2018

Disney is on a roll these days with their recent ‘Star Wars‘ franchise. Not only do we have the new Episodes, but we are getting spin-off movies that focus on a singular story from the past or a certain character. One character that we all have loved from the original trilogy, but don’t know a great deal about is Han Solo. Sure, we know he was a smuggler, is an anti-hero, loved the princess, and helped save the Galaxy with his wookie partner Chewbacca, as they flew from planet to planet on the iconic Millennium Falcon. Through the original trilogy, we heard small lines of dialogue that gave us the tiniest glimpse at his background and life before he met Obi-Wan and Luke. Fortunately, we now have ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story‘ to answer all of those questions for us.

Ron Howard Shoots Second on Star Wars Han Solo Film!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 22nd, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

960

It’s official now. Ron Howard has taken over directing duties on the upcoming Star Wars untitled Han Solo spinoff movie. Yesterday, we got the unfortunate news that Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired after creative differences with the studio heads, mainly Kathleen Kennedy and Lawrence Kasdan on the tone of the film. Lord and Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street) spent almost five months making this Han Solo film, but again, were fired for having a different style than what the studio was expecting. It sent fans in an uproar for sure and for good reason. It’s ultra rare that studios will fire directors this late in the game.

The next being that they are closing in on their younger Han Solo for their solo film about the Star Wars hero. They haven’t landed on an actor, yet, but they have a short list of three actors that have made the finals in the selection process.

New Line is looking to partner with Animal Logic (‘The Lego Movie‘) and Tezuka Productions as they work together to produce a live-action movie based on the ‘Astro Boy‘ comic book series. ‘Astro Boy‘ is not a new creation and began as a Japanese manga series from 1951 to 1968 with a vast interest worldwide. The character was adapted to a TV series in both 1980 and 2003 and in 2009 was the subject of an animated movie by Imagi Animation Studios.

Seth Grahame-Smith Directing DC’s ‘The Flash’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Oct 5th, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

480x277_seth_grahamesmith

Seth Grahame-Smith  is putting some distance between himself and the novels that rocketed him to stardom (‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter‘ and ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies‘) by turning his eye to directing. The project in question isn’t an adaptation to one of his novels, but to ‘The Flash‘.

Hey guys, Jana here,

scooby_doo

If you’re a child of the 70’s you remember one particular theme song with accurate clarity, ‘Scooby Doo‘, just saying that was probably enough to introduce the earworm that won’t be leaving you anytime soon, you’re welcome. Every creation has it’s own “circle of life” if you will. What’s old then, gets re-packaged and becomes new again. Bell Bottoms were hideous in the 90’s but no one will look at you twice for wearing them today, at least no one looks at me like I’ve just stepped out of a DeLorean when I wear them. Such is the case with Scoob and the gang.

Movie Quotes

Will Hunting:
So, when did you know, like, that she was the one for you?
Sean Maguire:
October 21st, 1975.
Will Hunting:
Jesus Christ. You know the fuckin' date?
Sean Maguire:
Oh yeah. 'Cause it was Game 6 of the World Series. Biggest game in Red Sox history.
Will Hunting:
Yeah, sure.
Sean Maguire:
My friends and I had, you know, slept out on the sidewalk all night to get tickets.
Will Hunting:
You got tickets?
Sean Maguire:
Yep. Day of the game. I was sittin' in a bar, waitin' for the game to start, and in walks this girl. Oh, it was an amazing game, though. You know, bottom of the eighth, Carbo ties it up at 6-6. It went to twelve. Bottom of the twelfth, in stepped Carlton Fisk. Old Pudge. Steps up to the plate, you know, and he's got that weird stance.
Will Hunting:
Yeah, yeah.
Sean Maguire:
And BAM! He clocks it. High fly ball down the left field line! Thirty-five thousand people, on their feet, yellin' at the ball, but that's not because of Fisk. He's wavin' at the ball like a madman.
Will Hunting:
Yeah, I've seen...
Sean Maguire:
He's going, "Get over! Get over! Get OVER!" And then it HITS the foul pole. OH, he goes apeshit, and 35,000 fans, you know, they charge the field, you know?
Will Hunting:
Yeah, and he's fuckin' bowlin' police out of the way!
Sean Maguire:
Goin', "God! Get out of the way! Get 'em away!" Banging people...
Will Hunting:
I can't fuckin' believe you had tickets to that fuckin' game!
Sean Maguire:
Yeah!
Will Hunting:
Did you rush the field?
Sean Maguire:
[surprised at the question] No, I didn't rush the fuckin' field; I wasn't there.
Will Hunting:
What?
Sean Maguire:
No - I was in a bar havin' a drink with my future wife.
Will Hunting:
You missed Pudge Fisk's home run?
Sean Maguire:
Oh, yeah.
Will Hunting:
To have a fuckin' drink with some lady you never met?
Sean Maguire:
Yeah, but you shoulda seen her; she was a stunner.
