by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 12th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

1355416686-golden_globe_awards

Here are the nominees for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. Wow, there were a lot of snubs here. And how did ‘Rush‘ make the list for Best Picture? No way! And what about ‘The Way Way Back‘, ‘Mud‘, or ‘Short Term 12‘ not being nominated? For shame. Let me know what you think of this nominee list?

Hi, Bryan Here….

the-heat-3

Paul Feig (creator of ‘Freaks and Geeks‘ and director of ‘Bridesmaids‘ and ‘The Heat‘, which starred Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy), is developing a spin-off project based on some of the characters of ‘The Heat‘. I wish the new project would follow Bullock and McCarthy’s characters, but it won’t. Instead, it will follow the characters played by Jamie Denbo and Jessica Chaffin, who played Beth and Gina.

Film Review: ‘Gravity’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 3rd, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

gravity-debris

If ‘Gravity‘ was the last movie I saw before I died, I would die happy. This is hands down, the best film of the year so far, and quite possibly the best film of the last several years. Alfonso Cuaron has come back with a vengeance after a seven year hiatus. Cauron directed ‘Children of Men‘ and the third ‘Harry Potter‘ film to name a couple. I know all of you have seen the trailer for this film, and let me just say, you’re in the for the most thrilling ride of your life.

Hi, Bryan Here….

James-Cameron-directing-Avatar

James Cameron has confirmed that he will begin work in 2017 on a new project titled ‘Battle Angel‘, a project he has wanted and talked about doing for some time now. But after his huge box office success with ‘Avatar‘, which has brought over $2.8 billion for 20th Century Fox, Cameron is set to do two more ‘Avatar‘ movies. And why shouldn’t he? He is being given an unlimited amount of time and creative control on everything.

Film Review: ‘The Heat’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 27th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

the_heat_bullock_mccarthy

Director Paul Feig is on a roll these days. From his time spent on the hit show ‘Freaks and Geeks‘ and ‘Undeclared‘, to his big box office smash comedy ‘Bridesmaids‘, the comedic director has not missed a step with this laugh-out-loud action-comedy, ‘The Heat‘. Sandra Bullock’s anal-retentive and proper FBI character mixes very well with Melissa McCarthy’s rough and rowdy street cop character perfectly and packs enough laughs for two whole movies. With the quick-witted and vulgar dialogue, and the chemistry between these two outlandish characters, I found myself laughing from start to finish so much, that I had tears in my eyes. Much like ‘Bridesmaids‘, I expect this McCarthy/Feig team to score big at the box office again this weekend.

Hi Bryan Here….

Some very good releases this week.  I always scream like a schoolgirl when a Kubrick film is released on blu-ray criterion which…well…only happened one other time, but I hope much much more from Kubrick is released on Criterion.   Some of the must own blu-rays include ‘Kubrick’s ‘The Killing’ Criterion Collection’, ‘Big Lebowski’,  ‘Demolition Man’, plus some other goodies.   As usual, in this article, you will get some info about the disc and the extras that come with the movie as well as a personal opinion about the movie and a link to purchase the film over at AMAZON where you can save quite a bit of money, and it will give a small percentage kick back to this site so we can continue bringing you excellent stories and sales.

Enjoy and Here We Go!!

Beatrice:
You here to make fun of me too?
Agent K (Kay):
No, ma'am. We at the FBI do not have a sense of humor we're aware of. May we come in?

Sure.
