Jun/2019

Hi Bryan Here…

I have some news for you from the Sundance Film Festival.  Kevin Smith (Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Jersey Girl, Smodcast) has been hard at work making a new film.  He has tackled the horror genre this time.  You might have read about his movie, “Red State” on this site before.  Well in short, at the debut last night, where scalped tickets were going for hundreds of dollars and had a mile long line, and protestors were picketing his film, Kevin Smith debuted his new film.  Then there was a Q & A after the screening.

Interview with Donnell Rawlings!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 2nd, 2018

I had the distinct pleasure to talk with actor/comedian Donnell Rawlings about his new show ‘HOLLYWEED‘ amongst other things. ‘HOLLYWEED‘ is a new TV show pilot that stars Rawlings and Kevin Smith, the latter of which wrote and directed the show. It’s a lot like ‘CLERKS‘, but instead taking place at a convenience store, it’s at a cannabis dispensary. It’s fantastic, to say the least. Donnell Rawlings is mostly known for starring in Chappelle Show on comedy central.

Film Review ‘Another Wolfcop’!!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 11th, 2017

Hey guys, Jana here,I had the awesome pleasure of watching ‘Another Wolfcop‘. I have to preface this review by saying there are few things I love more in this world than movies, specifically the fantastic sub-genre of horror-comedy. Don’t ask me why, but that pair works together like pineapple on pizza. Yeah, I’m one of those people. While people far and wide dis the pineapple on pizza combo, it’s an unadulterated fact that the horror-comedy tag-team works like crazy in film. So read on to check out what you can expect from this sequel to ‘Wolfcop‘ from writer/director Lowell Dean.

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

batman-f4fc5109-b885-4cb9-b585-23d9a32fecbe

When Ben Affleck isn’t making the next Boston crime movie or saying “Yes” to a cameo role in Kevin Smith’s latest direct-to-video film, he’s reading comic books with Matt Damon and deciding on which next Hollywood starlet to take out for a steak dinner and never call again. The guy is a badass in every sense of the word. There’s nothing he can’t do. I’m just surprised he doesn’t have an EGOT yet. You can say a lot of things about Affleck, but you can’t say he doesn’t know when to say “no”. Affleck announced today that he will be stepping down from his role as director in the upcoming ‘Batman‘ film for Warner Bros., where he will indeed be playing Batman once again.

Get on the Stick with ‘The Flash’!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 12th, 2016

Wade D., Here…

Screen Shot 2016-05-12 at 8.23.01 AM

Hey everyone! So it seems like my first iteration wasn’t a total failure, because I got another chance to Get on the Stick. Just in case you missed Episode 1, here we are trying to apprise you to some sort of greatness that Boomstick just hasn’t touched on enough. So the goal here is to enlighten, entertain, and perhaps titillate you in a way that hasn’t been done quite yet. If you feel like you may be getting over titillated… turn off that Misty Mundae flick (with this crowd I’m guessing it’s either SpiderBabe or Lord of the G-Strings) and start rambling off batting orders from 1970’s MLB teams. We’ll do our best to keep spoilers at a minimum, so relax. The term “Get on the Stick” is all about getting to work, so no more blather… Let’s get to it!

Hey guys, Jana here,

swiss-army-man-poster

One of the things I love about the Sundance Film Festival, besides giving Kevin Smith the filmmakers trophy for ‘Clerks‘, is all the new films that get a spotlight put on them, ‘Swiss Army Man‘ falls directly into that category. ‘Swiss Army Man‘ was awarded the Directing award and nominated for the Grand Jury Prize.

Hey guys, Jana here,

14148_large_Justin_Long

In more TV news today, Justin Long is set to star in ‘Dream Team‘, an ABC half hour comedy from writers Kari Lizer and Bill Wrubel. Long is an excellent comedic actor with memorable roles in a dozen things from ‘Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story‘ to ‘Galaxy Quest‘, ‘Accepted’ before popping up in a bit more of an action role in ‘Live Free or Die Hard‘ but his character had one foot firmly planted in the funny world, as well. He also starred in one of Kevin Smith’s forays into the horror world with ‘Tusk‘.
