Dec/2019

Hi Bryan here…

I had a hell of a good time with The Expendables.  It was kind of an ultimate action film winking at previous action films along the way.  All the characters were set up brilliantly in the first film and I look forward to a sequel.  But this time, according to the LA Times, Stallone is looking to hand over his directing and writing duties to others.

Hi Bryan Here….

Well you knew it was going to happen.  The first film made over $100 million in its theatrical run plus tons more on home video sales.  And it was a fun movie.  I know it was partially written by Sly Stallone, but it had some god awful dialogue.  Laughable dialogue and not in a good way.  It was almost as it was written by a 13 year old kid.  But it definitely was action packed and tons of cool kills and an allright storyline.

Blu-ray Review: ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 22nd, 2017

THE FILM

On paper, ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard‘ sounds like a solid gold winner. You have Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson in a violent action-comedy with enough “motherfucks” for two films, that is directed by the guy who made ‘The Expendables 3‘ – Patrick Hughes. Those looking for a ‘Deadpool‘ style character from Reynolds will be disappointed, as he’s the straight arrow here, or as straight as Reynolds could possibly be. Samuel L. Jackson on the other hand is amped up to 11, as he plays Kinkaid, an assassin for hire who will testify in a global crime ring against a foreign mad man, played by Gary Oldman, complete with a hard Russian accent.

Rowdy Ronda is taking over the lead in one of the most anticipated  re-makes MGM has in their stable right now, ‘Road House‘.

Wesley Snipes Set To Star in TV Series ‘Endgame’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 23rd, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Wesley_Snipes_-_66ème_Festival_de_Venise_(Mostra)

It’s great to have Wesley Snipes back in the world and getting work. While I wish he would put the fangs back in and handle the sword to kill vampires as ‘Blade‘, it seems he has having more fun than picking big blockbuster projects. At least for now. I’m happy Sylvester Stallone asked him to come aboard ‘The Expendables 3‘, with a possibility to co-star in sequel films.

Jana’s Best/Worst of 2014!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 15th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage

It’s been a big year for the entertainment world. Netflix’s initial push to bring movie-theater worthy films straight to streaming customers and bypassing the big screen altogether set off a chain of deals that will take those fresh releases and push them directly into homes allowing us to bypass a $15.00 soda, but denying us the $20.00 popcorn you can only get at the theater. Then came the deluge of series and movies being made for exclusive run with everyone from Netflix, Amazon to Crackle and everything in between. Top that off with the huge breach of privacy Sony experienced. New releases were flooded onto P2P sharing sites and private emails from the film company’s big wigs that show us how the infrastructure of Sony really works, not to mention what those involved really think of some of their superstars.

Mel Gibson In Talks To Direct ‘Hacksaw Ridge’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Nov 22nd, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

download

Mel Gibson has been absent from the directing scene the last few years after he famously chose not to exercise his Miranda right to “remain silent” when he was pulled over for DUI. Once the incident was made public, he was systematically black-balled from the major film world. Oh, he’s still been in a few films that were by no means a success. Robert Downey, JR showed loyalty by using his voice to beg for the ban to be lifted on Gibson’s career. He was given a part in ‘The Expendables 3‘ and a part in ‘Machete Kills‘ that might have been the beginning of his return to mainstream media.

Jana B. here,

Jason Statham

Jason Statham is at the top of his game with a handful of projects in different levels of production. After being pitched the idea last year all is in place for him to sign onto ‘Susan Cooper‘ and costar with resident funny girl Melissa McCarthy. The feature film was written and will be directed by Paul Feig, I remember him clearly as Stanley from 1990’s campy and ridiculous ‘Ski Patrol‘.

Jason Statham Is Taking On ‘Layer Cake’ Sequel!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 12th, 2013

Jana B., Here….

Jason-Statham_10

Jason Statham is synonymous with box office bank when he stars in a movie. It’s no surprise that he’s been a busy little bad-ass lately. He’s going back to the stock well of British crime capers. Seriously when I just wrote that I think about the Pink Panther skulking around with his Sherlock hat and coat on with a gigantic magnifying glass. I’m fairly sure I’m more than just a little ADD, so bear with me, I’ll get us back to topic.

Bruce Willis Signs On With ‘The Prince’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 9th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here…..

Bruce Willis in GI Joe 2

Bruce Willis isn’t giving up the action films yet. He is set to star in an action-thriller called ‘The Prince‘, which will be produced and financed by Emmett/Furla films. Get this though, the budget is only $15 million dollars. An action film, starring Bruce Willis for only $15 million? That’s crazy, considering what Willis did a few weeks ago.
