Story of Your Life‘ has been in the works since last May, Amy Adams boarded the project early on, as did her co-star Jeremy Renner. The Sci-fi drama is coming from Paramount and another big-name actor is in negotiations as the remainder of the cast is filled in, Forest Whitaker. Directing the piece is ‘Prisoners‘ alum Denis Villeneuve with Eric Heisserer (‘A Nightmare On Elm Street‘) architecting the script.

Should ‘Alien’ Come Back To Life In A Reboot???

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 20th, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

neill-blomkamp

Sometimes things that are dead should stay dead, no matter how much we want to resurrect them, I’m on the fence which category this franchise falls into. 20th Century Fox has secured a deal with director Neill Blomkamp to bring a new ‘Alien‘ film to the big screen.

Hello, Jana here,

Amy-Adams

Amy Adams is not an actress you’d expect to see in the lineup for a movie about aliens minus ‘Man of Steel‘, but that’s exactly the case. The ‘American Hustle‘ star is in talks to star in ‘Story of Your Life‘ a film conversion of a short story by Nebula and Hugo and Locus Award winning author Ted Chiang. ‘Prisoners‘ director Denis Villeneuve is slated to direct from a script written by Eric Heisserer, writer of the remakes of ‘The Thing‘ and ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street‘.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Paramount Pictures has decided to indefintely shut down the planned reboot of that Ninja Turtles film we reported about a few months ago.  The film was supposed to be released around Christmas in 2013.  Looks like that won’t be happening anytime soon.  This is the film that Michael Bay was producing and that he wanted to make the Turtles from outer-space.

Hi, Bryan Here….

So, Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes studios will be producing the new live action TMNT film that will come out on Christmas of 2013.  Michael Bay feels the need to change the origin story and make the turtles aliens from another planet.  I mean, the origin story is pretty clear of the turtles.  A chemically engineered ooze spilled over the turtles and they transformed into what they are.  Splinter (the rat who was covered in the ooze as well) taught the turtles karate and they grew up to be crime fighters and eat pizza.

Hi Bryan Here….

From now until Sunday, all four Alien films are on sale over at AMAZON at 64% off making each blu-ray $12.49.  This is not the big collection set.  This is each individual release, which pretty much makes up that set.  These are pretty much direct transfers from the collection set, minus a few extras, and the special bonus disc.  If you have the collectors set already, then you don’t need these.  I suggest if you only want to own the first two Alien films, then this is the way to go.  Great prices, and great transfers.

Hi Bryan Here….

Platinum Studios and Practical Pictures have teamed up to bring us ‘Alien At Large’.  This is a graphic novel by Bob Keenan.  I don’t know much about this book, but from the description, it looks to play more towards kids than adults.  The synopsis reads “Alien Ambassador Boxavo Tan means well, but he’s dumb as a post. He has an uncanny ability to turn every situation into a catastrophe. Once he’s set on a course of action, the only thing his handlers can do is clean up his mess.”  So I can see some pretty good comedic actors playing this role.  Jim Carrey comes to mind immediately.

Get Ready For A Dinosaurs VS. Aliens Film!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 10th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

Freddy vs. Jason.  Cowboys vs. Aliens.  Predator vs. Alien.  Lincoln vs. Vampires.  Dahmer vs. Gacy.  It was only a matter a time before we got a Dinosaurs vs. Aliens film.  Director Barry Sonnenfeld (Men In Black films) is in production of the problem riddled production of Men In Black 3 but after that is wrapped his is looking to make a Dinosaurs and Alien battle film.  And why not??  Everyone else is on the bandwagon.

Hi Bryan Here….

So for a while now, we have been getting bits and pieces of information on Ridley Scott’s return to his “Alien” franchise, “Prometheus”.  Well it looks like actor Guy Pearce (Memento) has been added to the amazing cast that has already been formed according to IndieWire’s The Playlist.

Hi Bryan Here….

I think this film is going to be a hell of a lot of fun.  I can’t wait to see it.  Lots of new footage here.  I cannot get enough of the Western/Sci-Fi genre.

Hi Bryan Here…

Here is the new kick-ass trailer for Jon Favreau’s “Cowboys & Aliens“.  It looks amazing.  It reminds me of early Spielberg work with a pinch of Sonnenfeld and Donner.  This has just been added to my most anticipated films of 2011.  I love that we have Daniel Craig pretty much being James Bond in this film.  at least that is what it looks like.

Sam Raimi (Evil Dead) and Bill Block (producer of District 9) have tapped into Andrew Marlowe’s script called “EDF”.

Someone over at Vulture has read the script and said it is a cross between “Top Gun” and “Independence Day” with a hint of “The Last Starfighter”.  The title “EDF” stands for Earth Defense Force.  Not sure if that will stick.  It is supposed to be about Earth’s response to an imminent alien invasion.

Now I have faith in Sam Raimi for the most part.  I will completely forgive him for Spider-Man 3, and Bill Block still has not done wrong.  I’d like to see what Raimi can do with an alien flick because he sure knows how to deal with monsters and demons.

I just hope there is a volleyball scene in EDF.  Top Gun Style.

Not enough Tom Cruise posts.

Alien Invasion Film “Skyline” Gets a 2nd Trailer

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 29th, 2010

It has been a while since we got a flashy Alien Invasion movie.  I can remember Spielberg’s remake of “War of the Worlds” and 1994’s Independence Day being the typical goto movies if you wanted to watch aliens come to earth and destroy us humans.

Skyline looks no different.  It stars Donald Faison (Scrubs) and Eric Belfour (Six Feet Under) as in the lead roles as aliens try to kill all of us.

I think I saw a transformer and the creature from Cloverfield in this trailer.

All in all, I hope this is a good time.  I do not expect greatness, but hopefully it won’t be to Michael Bay-ish.

Below is the 2nd trailer for the film.  What do you think?
