Hey guys, Jana here,

wiz_the_1978_685x385

NBC is attempting to bring a live musical to the airwaves, yet again. ‘The Sound of Music‘ brought in a singing heavyweight with the wide-eyed Carrie Underwood as Maria, then they attempted a second musical with the absolute shit-show that was ‘Peter Pan‘. Seriously Christopher Walken as a singing Captain Hook? Did no one pay attention to the screen-test?! Next for the peacock is ‘The Wiz‘.

christian_bale_steve_jobs_a_l

Last week we brought you news that Seth Rogen was joining the Danny Boyle project to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak opposite Christian Bale’s Steve Jobs. Bale came to the conclusion that he felt he was not right for the part and has withdrawn.

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage

Steve Jobs is the topic of another biopic project. This time around Christian Bale is going to play the legendary genius opposite Seth Rogen’s Steve Wozniak. Bale and Rogen are shoring up a cast that will possibly include Jessica Chastain in an unspecified role.  Alone, Jobs and Wozniak were brilliant, but together the tech world would never be the same once they launch Apple. Writer Aaron Sorkin has adapted Walter Isaacson’s biography, ‘Steve Jobs‘ for Sony. Oscar-Winning director Danny Boyle (‘Trainspotting‘, ‘Slumdog Millionaire‘) is leading the life story. David Fincher was originally attached as director but his demands of a $10 Million salary and full creative control was not met by the studio.

Christian Bale to Play Steve Jobs?!?!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 15th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Steve-Jobs-Stamp

Don’t worry. If you were wanting more biopics about Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple Computers, then you’re in luck. Recently, Sony is making yet another Steve Jobs pic and as of a week or so ago, Leonardo DiCaprio was set to play Jobs. But talks fell through and DiCaprio is no longer set to star. But don’t fret, Sony has someone else in mind. And that person is a superhero.

Hi, Jana here,

stevejobs

Move over, Ashton Kutcher! He may have Mila Kunis, but he does not hold a monopoly on playing Steve Jobs.  Jobs was an American entrepreneur, marketer, and inventor, who was the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple Inc. His name is interchangeable with other greats in the industry Bill Gates, Steve Wozniak and Tim Cook

The Emmy®-winning HBO drama series THE NEWSROOM will begin production on its third and final season this spring, with debut slated for fall, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. “THE NEWSROOM is classic Aaron Sorkin – smart, riveting and thought-provoking,” said Lombardo. “I’m sure this farewell season will be one to remember.” This show has had a good run with some amazing characters and writing. I’ll be sad to see it go.

Terry Crews Joins HBO’s ‘The Newsroom’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 3rd, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

In a casting decision out of left field, action star and uproariously funny Old Spice commercial mascot, Terry Crews has just been cast in Aaron Sorkin’s new HBO series ‘The Newsroom’.  Crews will be introduced in episode 6 on July 29. He plays a bodyguard — and unofficial life coach — for Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels). He’ll appear in five episodes.

HBO Renews ‘The Newsroom’ and ‘True Blood’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 2nd, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

HBO renews Sorkin’s ‘The Newsroom’ for a second season and ‘True Blood’ for a sixth season.  ‘The Newsroom’ update comes just one day after its second season.  Needless to say, it has tons of viewers and very positive reviews.  And the hit vampire/werewolf/werepanther/witch/monster show has been renewed for a sixth season.  This time, I don’t think Alan Ball will be involved.  It will be interesting to see how the show does with out him running the show.

Hi Bryan Here…..

The 84th annual Academy Award nominations are in.  There are a couple of surprises that I was very happy to see on here and tons of disappointment.  It looks like the Academy went with 9 Best Picture noms this year rather than 10.  They also only went with 3 noms for make up which I can think of others, and only two for original song.  Was this a time issue, so that the event would be over on time for once rather than have all 5 songs being sung?  I don’t like it, but that’s how it is this year.  Below you will see each category with my thoughts.  Enjoy.

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 12th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

With the first few episodes of ‘Boardwalk Empire’ doing very well in the ratings, HBO has given the go ahead to make a third season for the gangster series.  This is much deserved.  ‘Boardwalk Empire’ is a magnificent achievement in television and is far better than ‘Sopranos’ ever was.

FedMex Here….

Gooooood morning sports fans.  Also, goooooood morning statisticians!  Let’s all get ready to hit the field, glove in one hand, TI-86 in the other.  Moneyball seems to be the next installment of Aaron Sorkin’s “technology screenplays.”  Yes, I’m coining that phrase myself, and will demand payment from Mr. Sorkin.

Bryan Says ‘Moneyball’ Knocks It Out Of The Park!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 21st, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

‘Moneyball’ is one of the best written films of the year.  The cast and crew of this film hit a home run with this.  The acting, writing, filmmaking is all top notch here.  is a book by Michael Lewis, written in 2003 about the Oakland Athletics baseball team and Billy Beane which was there general manager. The book is about how the Oakland A’s used a math formula to construct a winning baseball team of “back up” ball players.  The reason was that the Oakland A’s had a strong disadvantage from anyone else in the league because of their financial situation.  By using this formula, the Oakland A’s won 20 straight games in a row breaking all records in baseball history.  This is a true story.
