Film Review: ‘Kevin Hart What Now?’!!

by Janet White on Oct 14th, 2016

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

8P05_D002_00556 In Universal Pictures’ Kevin Hart: What Now?, comedic rockstar KEVIN HART follows up his 20 13 hit standup concert movie Let Me Explain, which grossed $32 million domestically and became the thirdhighest live standup comedy movie of all time. Hart takes center stage in this groundbreaking, recordsetting, soldout performance of “What Now?”—filmed outdoors in front of 50,000 people at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field—marking the first time a comedian has ever performed to an atcapacity football stadium. Credit: Frank Masi

An extended opening title sequence takes you through, Kevin Hart, a wannabe James Bond, literally a direct rip of various Bond films. The graphics were pretty cool. Enter the dramatic casino satire, an over-the-top, talking over others’ lines testament to the lunacy of Kevin Hart, Agent 0054. Next comes the stand-up concert that is the meat of Kevin Hart What Now? Hart shoots out of the stage in Trinity (yes, Matrix rip) style and the show begins.

Film Review: ‘The Girl on the Train’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 6th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

I can certainly see the appeal of Paula Hawkins’ first successful novel ‘The Girl on the Train‘, which was released in 2015, and was fast-tracked and optioned into a major motion picture by Universal Pictures to come out this weekend. It has some deeply dark and layered characters and tackles a range of emotions and vices from alcoholism, abuse, and even a murder. It’s a good story with a who-done-it angle that feels fresh and original. The problem here is that the film felt a bit rushed and lazy, which gave way to the very slow burn the film has and never quite stays on point with its many flashbacks and timing, often times showing the same scene several times. It just got tedious and redundant twenty minutes in and never stopped being overly dramatic with longing stares, tears, and silence.

Hey guys, Jana here,

If you just can’t wait for the ‘Fifty Shades Darker‘ trailer, check out this teaser. I’m not a huge fan of this trend, but it is what it is. The 19 second preview doesn’t give us a lot of info to go on, but will pique the interest of enough fans that they will be waiting on the edge of their seats for the official trailer release tomorrow.

Rescuing a pet is always the greatest thing you can do because it gives a sweet fur baby a new lease on life and you’re saving them from being destroyed a lot of the time. No, this is not just a friendly PSA, there’s a story here. Universal Pictures has scrapped their planned project with ‘Clifford The Big Red Dog‘ and put him back in the shelter where Paramount Pictures has stepped in and adopted the sweet, red pooch. Hey guys, Jana here,

Insidious-4-Movie

Blumhouse is one of my favorite names when it comes to awesome scary movies and that name just popped up on the radar with another film sure to scare even the most stalwart film-goer. This company doesn’t just produce one-off horror flicks, they develop franchises and give us sequels that are every bit as awesome as the originals, some of these are ‘The Purge‘, ‘Ouija‘, ‘Paranormal Activity‘ and the ‘Insidious‘ powerhouse. The latter among these has got another installment headed our way with ‘Insidious: Chapter 4‘.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Cats-London-Palladium-1453385297

It was only a matter time right? Due to the big success of 2012’s ‘Les Miserables‘, which earned Oscars, it’s only fitting that one of the biggest and longest running Broadway musicals would get the big screen treatment. Yes, ‘CATS‘ is coming to a movie theater near you with Tom Hooper directing. Hooper did indeed direct the 2012 ‘Les Miserables‘ and more recently ‘The Danish Girl‘, which also earned some Oscar wins.
