Hi Bryan Here….

Here’s a photo of the three brother dwarves Nori (Jed Brophy), Ori (Adam Brown) and Dori (Mark Hadlow) as they’ll look in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey by Peter Jackson.  I must say they look amazing.  Man ‘The Hobbit’ cannot come out fast enough.  ALl these images of Bilbo and Gandalf lately are just amping me up.  I’m sure there will be tons more images and videos coming in the near future.

Hi Bryan Here….

My Geek-o-meter is full on Bat-Shit Awesome right now.  Seeing all these production stills and interviews with the cast and crew of “The Hobbit” is just getting me more and more excited and then Peter Jackson unloaded this ten minute video production diary on me.  And HOLY SHIT.  Seeing all these images of some of my favorite sets and characters again has made me go insane to get back to Middle Earth as soon as possible.  I am totally looking forward to watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy again.

Hi Bryan Here…

I can’t believe it has been more then ten years since Peter Jackson unleashed his vision of Lord of the Rings on the world.  It has been a long and treacherous journey in getting this film, “The Hobbit” green-lit and made.  At first director Guillermo DEl Toro was attached to direct and I would have loved to have seen his vision.  But alas, the main maestro is behind the camera again to finish what he started a decade ago.

Bryan Here…

So now that the Union has stopped protesting, since Peter Jackson threatened to move the Hobbit Film to Eastern Europe to shoot rather than keeping it in New Zealand, production is a go.  For now.

Below are who is cast so far in the Hobbit.  You might recognize some of them.

Martin Freeman will be Bilbo Baggins.  You might remember him from the UK Office tv series, love Actually, or Hot Fuzz.

Richard Armitage will be Thoren Oakenshield.  You might remember him from the tv shows of MI5 or the BBC Robin Hood Show.

Aidan Turner will be Kili.  You might recognize him from the tv shows of Being Human and The Clinic.

Rob Kazinski will be Fili.  You might know him from the BBC soap opera Eastenders.

Graham McTavish will be Dwalin.  You might recognize him from the last season of 24 or the last Rambo movie.

What do you think of the casting choices so far?

Film Review: ‘Tolkien’!!

by Janet White on May 10th, 2019

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

“Even the smallest person can change the course of history.” – Lady Galadriel

Amazing words that continue to inspire people years after John Ronald Reuel Tolkien aka J. R. R. Tolkien’s (Nicholas Hoult) passing. From a very young age, Tolkien was a dreamer. Encouraged by his theatrical mother with her animated storytelling, Tolkien portrays its namesake as a person simultaneously living in two different worlds nearly all of the time. Set in England and France, the viewer gains insight into Tolkien’s beginnings and influences. Books were his constant companion that provided an escape from losing his father and later his mother. It is no wonder that Tolkien went on to write two of the most complex and fantastical books of all time. As an orphan, Tolkien meets the love of his life, Edith Bratt (Lily Collins) and his quest to find love, thrive in college, and eventually establish himself in a career takes off from there.

Hey guys, Jana here,

We all know the movies based on the books of J.R.R. Tolkien (‘The Lord of the Rings‘ and ‘The Hobbit‘ trilogies), but not many knew the man. Chernin Entertainment for Fox Searchlight have set Dome Karukoski at the task of directing a biopic of the author. Nicholas Hoult is the front-runner to take on the part of the gifted author.

The Pilgrimage Trailer Looks Hardcore!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 13th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

“I’m on a pilgrimage to see a moose!” Well, not so much here, but there’s a new movie coming out on August 11th called Pilgrimage that looks hardcore. From what I can tell from the bloody violent trailer, it looks like a cross between Braveheart, a supernatural horror film, and Scorsese’s recent Silence film, but you know, with more decapitations and blood. Jon Bernthal (Walking Dead) and Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming), along with Richard Armitage (The Hobbit) star in the film, and takes place in Ireland in the year 1209 where a group of monks being a pilgrimage to escort an ancient relic. Things get out of hand, human heads end up on giant sticks, sword fights ensue, and blood is shed. This seems right up my alley.
