4K UHD Review: ‘The Dark Knight’!
THE FILM
‘The Dark Knight‘ is one of those rare instances where the sequel is even better that it’s previous original movie. I would say that this film is perhaps one of the greatest, if not the greatest superhero film of all time so far. In addition to that, it’s just a fantastic film itself that can compete with any movie out there. This sequel picks up with Batman in the prime of his justice restoring and bringing criminals to jail. Christian Bale is better than ever here as Batman and we see how him being the caped crusader is taking a toll both physically and mentally on him. He still manages to come through though each time. But soon enough, comes The Joker, played flawlessly by Heath Ledger.

Favorite Films of 2016!
Hi everyone, Bryan here….
The end of 2016 is here, which means everyone’s Top 10 list is out already or getting ready to be released. I’m not going to do a Top 10 in order again this year, because there are just so many amazing films I feel so passionate about, that it is difficult to rank them. If you think this is a weak year of films, then you are surely mistaken. I will say that most of the big budget blockbusters this year were duds, but the indie films were nothing short of amazing. So below is the list of films that I truly loved this year. These films will be ones that I watch over and over again, and you should to. I watched 254 films that were released this year (Yes, I counted) and survived to tell the tale. As always, please let me know if any of your favorite films made my list. Enjoy!
You can CLICK the titles of each movie where you can purchase the Blu-rays too. Hooray!

Guide To Wave One Events at Fantastic Fest 2014!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Fantastic Fest is one of the best film festivals in the U.S. not to mention the biggest. Everything there is awesome and amazing. Definitely the place to go if you love genre films as they feature the newest films from all categories featuring in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action from all over. Some of the best and most loved films have had their world premieres at the festival. Hoping to take its place next to huge hits like ‘There Will Be Blood‘, ‘Zombieland‘ and ‘Apocalypto‘ is ‘Tusk‘. The oddly named flick comes from the brilliant and irreverent mind of Kevin Smith.
‘The Walking Dead’ Season 4 Recap – Episode 13 ‘Alone’!!
Misty S., Here….
In this episode of ‘The Walking Dead‘, we finally get through most of the psychological issues that the characters had. There’s some action and suspense in this episode, even a tiny bit of love. Let’s get to it. The show starts out with Bob reminiscing back to where he was right before Glen and Daryl find him. He’s walking down a street alone when Daryl and Glen find him. Fast forward to present, Bob, Sasha and Maggie are in the fog fighting off walkers in a pretty cool scene. Sasha thinks that finding Glen is a lost cause and after going back and forth, they still continue to look for him. They see the sign for Terminus start walking there to find Glen. Sasha tells Bob how they need to set up camp and chill somewhere and the next morning, Maggie leaves them to do this alone. Bob and Sasha follow her.
Shirtz Actually Lived the Film, ‘Unknown’!!! (A Review)
Hi Bryan Here….
So we are talking about the film ‘Unknown’ here. A film that stars Liam Neeson, January Jones, and Diane Kruger. According to IMDB, ‘Unknown’ is about “A man awakens from a coma, only to discover that someone has taken on his identity and that no one, (not even his wife), believes him. With the help of a young woman, he sets out to prove who he is.” So there’s that. Then there’s Boomstick’s newest contributor and writer….Shirtz. Shirtz is the ambassador for the underground world of the occult and bizarre to our human society. He has been everywhere and he has seen everything. We are very happy to have him at Boomstick Comics from now on so give him a warm welcome, but be careful. He bites.
Christopher Guest’s Next Film Will center Around Retro Collectors
I always look forward to seeing the next mockumentary Christopher Guest puts out. He started out with This is Spinal Tap, and brought us other gems as Waiting For Guffman, Best In Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration.
While some people didn’t care much for the last film, he still has made some of the funniest films out there with some great music as well. I for one liked “For Your Consideration”.
Now after hearing this news that his next group of crazies he plans to mock is the group that collects old comic books, vintage records, old barbies and toys, and more. Already I am laughing out loud at the premise. Hopefully somebody like Comic-Book Guy from the Simpsons will be in the movie.
Guest will be joined by Harry Shearer and Michael McKean, two actors who have been with him since his Spinal Tap days (which they also co-wrote alongside him). No mention of Eugene Levy, however—though I imagine that he will remain as integral a part of the production as he’s ever been. In addition to starring in Guest’s films, Levy has also helped him write all of their screenplays. It would be regrettable if that wasn’t the case on this film as well.
Other Guest regulars include Jane Lynch, Parker Posey and John Michael Higgins, all of whom are being sought for the film. Lynch’s Glee schedule could pose a problem, but otherwise it’s likely that most of the gang will be returning.
We need Fred Willard, Eugene Levy, and Catherine O’ Hara to sign on as well. I am sure they will.
