♫♪1,2 Freddy’s Coming For You…Again!!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Aug 6th, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

A_Nightmare_Elm_Street_nightmareaug

It’s not only makeup, hairstyle and fashion trends that undergo a huge upheaval and massive makeovers as the years progress, film has been doing the same thing since the first piece of celluloid lit up a white screen. Horror movies have a different spot as remakes in my eyes. I love seeing an old favorite re-vamped with newer technology and can’t wait to see what new twists, turns and unexpected scares the filmmakers have in store for the viewer. ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street‘ is back looking to scare the sleep out of a new generation.

Check Out the Scary Trailer for ‘Demonic’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 8th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

demoni-james-wan-poster

There’s a new horror movie on the horizon from horror master James Wan (the guy who brought us ‘Saw‘, ‘The Conjuring‘, and ‘Insidious‘). Actually, Wan isn’t directing this new film called ‘Demonic‘, formally titled ‘House of Horror‘, but he is producing and co-writing. Will Cannon (whose resume is a bit on the short side) directed this scary little flick, which was supposed to come out December of 2014, but now has no current release date. We hope that changes, because this does look a bit frightening.

Film Review: ‘Annabelle’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 2nd, 2014

Fernando M., Here…

annabelle-trailer

It’s really hard to make a good horror film these days.  I’m not sure if it’s because the genre has been so vigorously explored in the past half century that there’s little left to give to the audience, but I’ll say that it is a truly difficult task.  In recent memory, there are a few gems that will undoubtedly become classics one day.  Annabelle doesn’t quite fit into this category, but man, it gives it a hell of a shot!

Hello, Jana here,

Capture176

Hey kids, ready for a freaky story of a tortured family, demonic possession, Department of Child Services and the Police all surrounding Gary Indiana? You might have heard of this one, actually. It was in the news in January of this year. I remember reading the report just gobsmacked that no one had locked the chick up yet, then I understood why.

Film Review: ‘A Haunted House 2’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 17th, 2014

Hi, Bryan Here…

content_Marlon-Wayans-with-the-Creepy-Doll-in-a-haunted-house-2

And we are back one year later with a sequel to Marlon Wayans‘ ‘A Haunted House 2‘, which is the funniest film of the year so far. Like the first movie, Wayans and crew parody the ‘Paranormal Activity‘ films along with some of the horror flicks that were released last year including ‘Sinister‘, ‘The Conjuring‘, and ‘Insidious 2‘. For those of you who missed the first outing, don’t worry, yo won’t need to catch up, but I suggest you do as it’s as funny as this sequel. After ‘Scary Movie‘ and Wayans parted ways (there is a jab at that issue in this movie), the comedic icon took a different approach with this new franchise.

Hi, Bryan Here…

babadook

I’ve been eagerly awaiting a new horror film that will scare this shit out of me. Last year, ‘The Conjuring‘ did a decent job at that, but this new film that premiered at Sundance called ‘The Babadook‘, is scaring a lot of people. And i just can’t wait. Entertainment One International will release the film, which is a monster/boogeyman movie. Enjoy the trailer and poster.

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 16th, 2013

Jana B., Here….

Three days after the sequel to ‘Insidious‘ is released for theatrical viewing, which continues the saga of the haunted Lambert family, Blumhouse Productions, Entertainment One, FilmDistrict, and Sony  announced a third installment to the hit horror film that took the  genre by storm in 2010. Screenwriter Leigh Whannell will lend his writing skills once more. This time without the direction of longtime collaborator James Wan. Wan just began filming Universal’sFast & Furious 7‘.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Chucky is back in a big way. The next installment of the ‘Child’s Play‘ franchise titled ‘Curse of Chucky‘ made its North American debut a few days ago to a sold out theater. The location was at The Fantasia Film Festival and it won the Audience Award for Best International Feature today. How cool is that? We’ve written about ‘Curse of Chucky‘ a few times before, which you can see HERE.

IT CHAPTER 2 – 4K UHD Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 11th, 2019

THE FILM

The second and final chapter of ‘IT‘ brings the adult renderings of Stephen King’s kid heroes to the forefront some 27 years later in ‘IT: Chapter 2‘, that stars Bill Hader, Jessica Chastain, and James McAvoy. This sequel runs in at three hours alone, making the two films over five hours long. Director Andy Muschietti has even said there is a 6.5-hour super-cut of the movie, which leads me to ask why this wasn’t released on a streaming format, due to its episodic nature and extensive time run. Still, this second chapter is entertaining enough but suffers from major flaws in pacing, redundancy, and trying to over-complicate things.

“‘IT: Chapter 2’ has some golden moments of horror and comedy, but it comes at an exhaustive and taxing price.”

Blu-ray Review: ‘Doctor Strange’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 28th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

61HRk7rEWAL

THE FILM

The next franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes with mystical and magical powers in ‘Doctor Strange‘, which is a damn good start to this new character. ‘Doctor Strange‘ was created by Steve Ditko and first appeared in Strange Tales #110 back in 1963. ‘Doctor Strange‘ or Stephen Strange is a highly intelligent surgeon who is in the top of his field. In an accident, he loses the use of his hands, which leads him to seek out alternate methods of healing. This brings him to a mystical and magical place across the globe where he meets ‘The Ancient One’ amongst other sorcerers that help him heal spiritually and physically.

‘Malignant Man’ is Coming to the Big Screen!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 13th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…..

Malignant-Man

Fox and Boom! Studios have partnered up to bring ‘Malignant Man‘ to the big screen with Brad Peyton  directing and James Wan producing. Peyton recently directed ‘San Andreas‘ with The Rock and is doing the sequel and the upcoming ‘Rampage‘ film too with (you guessed it) The Rock. And we all know Wan is the horror master who just released ‘Conjuring 2‘, so thus far, this has a solid team behind it.

One of the things I love about the Sundance Film Festival, besides giving Kevin Smith the filmmakers trophy for ‘Clerks‘, is all the new films that get a spotlight put on them, ‘Swiss Army Man‘ falls directly into that category. ‘Swiss Army Man‘ was awarded the Directing award and nominated for the Grand Jury Prize.

Film Review: ‘After Earth’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 30th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

After-Earth-Movie-Trailer-photo

After Earth‘ has a ton of good things going for it. We have Will Smith who has the largest box office draw in the business right now and his son Jaden Smith who has proven he has decent acting chops and can secure a decent crowd. This film also has a post apocalyptic scenario in the sci-fi genre that takes place on different planets in the far off future. Did I mention that it also has aliens, spaceships, and cool weaponry too? This is a perfect recipe for a potential massive summer blockbuster that could make over $1 billion. Despite these seemingly cool aspects, ‘After Earth‘ comes up short and never fully delivers the movie it should be.

BRIDGE – CHAPTER FOUR

by Justin Cline on Nov 16th, 2011

CHAPTER FOUR

Bridge was faced with a decision, a choice between two evils, neither of which was in his favor.  Should he stretch his light out to reveal what had become of his would-be client or draw the candle closer to inspect the ruins of his own gut?  In the end, the woman won out if only because he was still in a state of shock, and he knew he needed to take advantage of that fact before it wore off and the pain of what had happened to him set in.
