Disney movies are a hallmark of most of our childhoods and they were awesome, but nothing more than an animated break from reality in an air conditioned theater. For one child with autism they appeared as a lifeline helping him cope and connecting him to a world he doesn’t understand. In ‘Life, AnimatedOwen Suskind is the focus of the story and in this documentary we get an up-close look at Owen’s life as a young boy to the young man he is now, getting ready to live in his own apartment. One thing that is guaranteed about this doc – there will be tears.

Hey guys, Jana here,

GoM_Poster

What began as your typical biopic about the timeless Grace Kelly to be released in 2013 for Oscar contention, soon faced a release delay being pushed back to Spring 2014, then eventually pulled from theater-release altogether for a network premier direct to TV.

There’s been a project called ‘It’s ‘What I Do: A Photographer’s Life Of Love and War‘, which is a memoir by Lynsey Addario that has Hollywood clamoring to buy the rights for the big screen. It now seems that Warner Bros. has the upper hand and set to strike a deal with a highly bankable and talented team.

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 20th, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

neill-blomkamp

Sometimes things that are dead should stay dead, no matter how much we want to resurrect them, I’m on the fence which category this franchise falls into. 20th Century Fox has secured a deal with director Neill Blomkamp to bring a new ‘Alien‘ film to the big screen.

Film Review: The Book of Life

by Woozie on Oct 16th, 2014

Hey, Suzanne here…

When it was announced that Guillermo del Toro was producing a 3D animated children’s movie about Día de los Muertos, it was easy to assume that The Book of Life would turn the festival of the dead into something creepy or macabre along the lines of Nightmare Before Christmas. Surprisingly and delightfully, del Toro and director Jorge R. Gutierrez created a funny and touching movie that gives the holiday the kind of celebration it deserves.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

cdn.indiewire

Nicolas Winding Refn is one of my favorite directors. The Danish born director has quite the resume. He is mostly known for making the hit film ‘Drive‘ with Ryan Gosling, but has also made ‘Valhalla Rising‘, ‘Bronson‘, and the recent ‘Only God Forgives‘, which also s tarred Gosling. Refn is also a big advocate for the cult horror film genre. He can be seen on numerous Blu-ray extras, discussing his love for that particular brand of cinema. Not only is he a great director, but he is also a big fan of movies.

Film Review: ‘A Five Star Life’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 12th, 2014

Paul N., Here…

films-five_star_life-a_five_star_life-5

Every film attempts to capture a moment. Sometimes that moment is expressed in a character, sometimes in the plot, other times in the tone. When a film truly captures that moment effectively, it becomes something more than a film – it becomes timeless. There is a danger to this, however. Should the film successfully capture an uninspiring or unnecessary moment, the magic becomes lost. Unfortunately, A Five Star Life is such a film. Its attempt to capture the depressing life of its main character is so exact that the entire film becomes just as drab.

Hey guys, Jana here,

David-Berkowitz-640x360

Few things entertain me more than a good serial killer book/movie/TV show. I know, it’s a strange interest to have, but this is one of the milder interests of mine. We’ve heard about the Charles Manson slayings going into production for a series with Rob Zombie involved, this time it’s another killer that is getting the mini-series treatment.  David Berkowitz, Son of Sam, the .44 Caliber Killer – whatever you want to call him, he’s the next topic for a mini treatment.

Lifetime Adapting ‘The Omen’ To Series Order!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Aug 25th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

Omen

When anyone finds a formula for success, it’s bound to be duplicated over and over until the goose is out of golden eggs. Lifetime is taking the blueprint originated by it’s sister network, A&E, when it brought a series order forward on ‘Bates Motel‘. Lifetime is turning its sights toward another horror movie to turn into a series.
