Blu-ray Review: ‘Atomic Blonde’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 9th, 2017

THE FILM

This film portion is written by Dan Moran.

Atomic Blonde isn’t a perfect movie. It has an overly complex plot and is about 20 minutes longer than it needs to be, but all of that is overcome by some of the best action sequences in recent memory with an absolutely badass performance by Charlize Theron.

Film Review: ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 20th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

Matthew Vaughn is back in the director’s chair with ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle‘, the sequel to the hit 2015 action-comedy film that made over $414 million. The ‘Kingsman’ story line was originally written in comic book form from Mark Millar (Kick-Ass) and Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) and follows a super secret British spy service that protects the world from various threats. It’s like James Bond, but more fun, more violent, and with more laughs. With sequels, especially in the action world, the words “bigger, better, faster” are usually used everyday on set, in an attempt to out-do the previous movie. That can mostly be said for this sequel too, but with The Golden Circle – – it all works.

4K UHD Reivew: Kong: Skull Island!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 17th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

THE FILM

We’ve seen a ton of versions of ‘King Kong‘ over the decades from the 1933 version to the Jeff Bridges version in the 1970s, and even more recently, the 2005 version that was directed by ‘Lord of the Rings‘ director Peter Jackson. ‘King Kong‘ has been a staple in entertainment and pop culture since he debuted in the early 30s and he is showing no signs of stopping, thanks to Warner Bros.and Legendary Pictures who are taking their cues from Marvel and creating their own universe called the ‘MonsterVerse‘.

Blu-ray Review: John Wick 2

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 5th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

51kbWQ1BmfL

THE FILM

Ever since Keanu Reeves jumped into the role of John Wick in 2014, we all have wanted a sequel in the worst way. Filmmakers Chad Stahelski and David Leitch created a monster of a franchise with that film that brought the action genre back to a high point. That first film had a simple story and some of the best action sequences in a long time. Some bad guys steal John Wick’s car and kill his precious puppy dog a few days after his wife dies. Not knowing John Wick is the best assassin in the world, Wick sets out on revenge and literally kills everybody. It was just so good and showed the world what everyone secretly wants to do if some jerk killed your dog. The first film had a modest budget of only $20 million, but ended up making almost $90 million, which leads us to future sequels.

Film Review #2: ‘Kong: Skull Island’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 12th, 2017

Dan M., here….

Bad news. Kong: Skull Island isn’t a good movie, but it isn’t a bad one either. It exists in that awful “shrug” territory “Why?” or “I guess that works.”

Lets break it down!

Hey guys, Jana here,

first-blood_book-cover

If they make a Rambo movie in the jungle and Sylvester Stallone isn’t in it, did it really happen? This might be the question on some minds as we learned ‘Rambo: New Blood‘ is the title of brand new reboot of the property that will NOT include Sly. At this point in his career he needs it all: new blood, hair, hips whatever, but I digress.

Film Review: ‘Kevin Hart What Now?’!!

by Janet White on Oct 14th, 2016

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

8P05_D002_00556 In Universal Pictures’ Kevin Hart: What Now?, comedic rockstar KEVIN HART follows up his 20 13 hit standup concert movie Let Me Explain, which grossed $32 million domestically and became the thirdhighest live standup comedy movie of all time. Hart takes center stage in this groundbreaking, recordsetting, soldout performance of “What Now?”—filmed outdoors in front of 50,000 people at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field—marking the first time a comedian has ever performed to an atcapacity football stadium. Credit: Frank Masi

An extended opening title sequence takes you through, Kevin Hart, a wannabe James Bond, literally a direct rip of various Bond films. The graphics were pretty cool. Enter the dramatic casino satire, an over-the-top, talking over others’ lines testament to the lunacy of Kevin Hart, Agent 0054. Next comes the stand-up concert that is the meat of Kevin Hart What Now? Hart shoots out of the stage in Trinity (yes, Matrix rip) style and the show begins.

Hey guys, Jana here,

CAET619-124_2014_122708_hd-878x494

If you’ve been the current face of James Bond for a while, you may want to slow your roll just a little bit after getting off the action-packed adrenaline train and Daniel Craig is taking a turn into another novel adaptation, but there’s a catch (or two), he’s not playing the main character and it’s all for the small screen. Surprised, yet? I was.

Bryan Kluger’s Best/Worst of 2015!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 30th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

1140-mfg-2015-Readers-Choice-Best-Movie-poll-collage-promo.imgcache.rev1449178940055.web.722.414

I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. 2015 was an interesting year to say the least, most of which was great. Movie-wise, I think 2015 had some excellent films filling its theaters, but of course it had some real stinkers too. Below is my list of the Best and Worst films of 2015.  I believe this year I watched over 175 new films, theatrically speaking and it was very difficult to narrow them down from 25. After some strawberry cake covered in Lucky Charms, I finally had a TOP 15, however, these films are in no particular order this year. But when you talk about the Best movies, you have to mention the worst too. My list tends to be a tad bit different from others, but hey, I’m twisted. I highly encourage you to seek out these movies – good or bad and enjoy the rest of your year.

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 9th, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

Alright, alright, alright kids Sony Pictures and Media Rights Capital are making some big movement in the dark world of Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower‘ and these are the moves we want! First off, nothing is set in stone or contracted, yet, but there’s a good likelihood this will come to happen.

Movie Quotes

Julia:
Look, I'm sorry.
Rick Santoro:
Who gives a shit if you're sorry?
Julia:
What are you mad at me for?
Rick Santoro:
Because I didn't have to know! You decided to have this problem, not me! My world would've gone on turning just fine, but now, either way I look, I have to do something that I don't wanna do. Do you I understand, I do not wanna do this!
