It seems like every production company and movie studio – no matter how big or small is releasing its own streaming app. Remember the days when it was just Netflix and Hulu? Seems like ages ago. For the hardcore horror movie fans of grindhouse, gore, and cult films – comes Midnight Movie Society.

My Bloody Podcast #1 – Killer Klowns From Outer Space!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 17th, 2018

Here is the debut episode of the newest podcast under the MULTI-MEDIA MEN banner called ‘My Bloody Podcast‘, where the show is related to all things HORROR! Here on this new show, Preston Barta from Fresh Fiction and the Denton Record Chronicle and myself talk about everything we love about horror movies, tv shows, and horror themed music.  In our first episode, our topics include discussions about a brand new Friday the 13th documentary, a new Netflix series about vampires, and the remake of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary. We also dive into the recent film ‘A Quiet Place‘, and give you “Bloody Recommendations” of two vintage horror films, being Troll/Troll 2 movie set and The Doctor and the Devils. Our big topic is of course ‘Killer Klowns From Outer Space‘, where we discuss the film and its soundtrack. It was so much fun. This episode is guaranteed to thrill you, chill you, and fulfill you.

Dan Moran’s ‘Black Panther’ Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 16th, 2018

Admittedly, the easiest narrative for Black Panther reviews is that it is a “game-changer”, “important”, “redefines hero”, etc. Those narratives and feelings aren’t wrong. I think Black Panther is one of Marvel’s best stand-alone hero films. It is right behind The Winter Soldier and the original Iron Man for me. In a few years it may even eclipse those two as the distance and impact it has going forward is felt. I believe the cultural and racial themes of this film are well thought out, focused, bold, and sobering. To be perfectly honest I don’t feel comfortable writing about that aspect of the film in depth. I’m a 32 year old goofy white guy who is not a good enough writer to navigate that territory, plus I lack the experiences that would make my take worth reading. There are some incredible writers who have written on the overall cultural impact of (essentially) an all-black cast superhero film and I encourage all of you to seek those pieces out because they are worth your time. My review is going to focus on just how badass this movie is.

Favorite Movie Scene of the Day #13!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 14th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

Since it’s Friday and this is the 13th installment of the Favorite Movie Scene of the Day, it made sense to pick a scene from the iconic Friday the 13th franchise. Out of the 12 films, where does one begin to pick a scene? There are so many great death scenes, ridiculous dialogue, and tits flying around with blood, that I need to just make a montage of everything I love about this franchise. I just don’t have the time right now. It’s unfortunate that it’s rather difficult to find all of the films in one place these days.

Nine Inch Nails Is Back With New EP and Single!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jul 13th, 2017

Hey guys, Jana here,

Nine Inch Nails has never really been gone, if you ask me, but they’re back with a new five-song collection release titled ‘Add Violence‘ on Friday, July 21st. Leading the pack of this new release is the upbeat single ‘Less Than‘. You’ll find the video below, it will make you absolutely giddy, or maybe that’s just me. The synthesizers beckon back to the optimism of the ’80’s before being overpowered with some rugged and dirty guitar riffs.

Blu-ray Review: The Fate of the Furious!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 13th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

THE FILM

We’re eight movies into this franchise, which would have you assume that these films would have lost steam, been remade, or have a completely new cast. That’s not the case at all with ‘Fate of the Furious‘ or the 8th installment of the ‘Fast and Furious‘ franchise, because there are no signs of this franchise slowing down, being remade, or losing any of its fun cast.
