ONCE – US Tour Stage Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 23rd, 2019

Two strangers in Dublin, Ireland meet by chance on the street, where they realize they are both talented musicians and end up falling in love with each other. Based on the hit 2007 film of the same name, ‘Once‘ is a raw and emotional tale of music, love, and heartbreak that won many awards more than a decade ago. After the film’s success, a stage version was made and hit Broadway by storm, also earning numerous achievements. Now, the play is touring North America and has stopped in Dallas, TX at the gorgeous Winspear Opera House for the Thanksgiving holiday, and what better way to celebrate than to visit the pub and listen to some fantastic Irish folk music with ‘Once‘ live on stage.

Check Out The Trailer for ‘The Sessions’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 29th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

Based on the poignantly optimistic autobiographical writings of California-based journalist and poet Mark O’Brien, The Sessions tells the story of a man confined to an iron lung who is determined–at age 38–to lose his virginity. With the help of his therapists and the guidance of his priest, he sets out to make his dream a reality.  This film screened at Sundance and was a big hit with the crowds.  It stars John Hawkes, Alan Arkin, William H. Macy, and Helen Hunt.  Ben Lewin served as director.

Hi Bryan Here….

One of my favorite films of the year has just been announced for a blu-ray combo release.  On October 11, 2011, ‘Tree of Life’ will be released on a Blu-Ray+DVD+Digital Copy combo pack.  Read my review of the film HERE.  I just loved everything about this film.  I bet that at some point after the first of the year, Criterion will snatch up the rights to ‘Tree of Life’ and release it in the ultimate edition.  At least that’s what I am hoping for.  Press release below.  Also you can pre-order the film below.

Hi Bryan Here…

Terrence Malick is one heel of a filmmaker and I am so happy he is busy making films currently.  His next film which is called “Tree of Life” comes out May 27th.  I have been looking forward to that film for quite sometime.  It seems that he has already finished his next film as well which is still untitled at the moment.

Hi Bryan Here…

If you have not had the chance to check out the latest vision from extraordinary director, Terrence Malick, then you should take a couple of minutes and watch the trailer.  The film stars Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, and Jessica Chastain.  The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950’s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Through Malick’s signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.
