Mustang‘ director Deniz Gamze Erguven plans to break the language barrier with her first English language picture, ‘Kings‘. The setting for ‘Kings‘ is the tension-mounted Los Angeles scene during the Rodney King trial in 1992 which resulted in mass rioting after the policemen who were captured on tape beating King received an acquittal.  The story that will be told inside that setting will be dramatic and touching and told by lead actors Daniel Craig and Halle Berry.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Solange-Main

We first reported that the ‘Drive‘ director was set to produce a string of horror remakes recently, with ‘Maniac Cop‘ being the first project. Now, Nicolas Winding Refn has announced the next film he will produce, but not direct, which is a remake of the old 1972 Italian film ‘What Have You Done To Solange?‘ Refn and his production company are partnering with Fulvio Lucisano, who produced the original film, and also produced 1965’s ‘Planet of the Vampires‘, which I reviewed HERE, and is very similar to ‘Alien‘ from Ridley Scott. Refn has been wanting to remake ‘Solange‘ for a while now, and after the Cannes screening of ‘Planet of the Vampires‘, Refn and Lucisano decided to move ahead with the project.

Hey guys, Jana here,

hell-or-high-water-poster

The first trailer for ‘Hell or High Water‘ has landed and it looks like one of those movies I’m beyond excited to see. Two brothers, desperate to save the family farm in New Mexico, begin robbing banks to meet the looming deadline. The brothers are the gorgeous combination of Chris Pine and Ben Foster, a divorced dad and an ex-con. The flick will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival then will be available August 19 in theaters.

There is a Paris Hilton Documentary in the Works!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 11th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

paris_hilton

It looks like Paris Hilton has authorized and allowed a documentary team to make a documentary about her life. The film will be directed by Don Argott and Sheena Joyce and filming will begin this summer in Ibiza of all places. Joyce and Argott come as a pair basically, since they’ve worked on the same documentaries before this, including ‘Rock School‘ and ‘The Art of the Steal‘. Those are actually pretty good documentaries.

Molly’s Game‘ is the upcoming adaptation of the book of the same name by Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who was, not just young and beautiful but the woman behind  the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game. She ran this for 10 years before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents hefting automatic weapons. This high-level game brought in not just Hollywood’s elite, but sports stars, business wizards and even the Russian mob. With everything stacking against her, the one ally she can count on is her criminal defense lawyer who learns there are more layers to Bloom than what the media lets on.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

It certainly has been a long time since Roger Avary has been behind the camera. If you need a reminder, Avary wrote the story to ‘Pulp Fiction‘ and was a collaborator with Quentin Tarantino for a while, until legal troubles plagued Avary. His most notable directorial effort was ‘The Rules of Attraction‘, back more than a decade ago, and this new project called ‘Unwind‘ is his comeback movie.

There’s a new film called ‘Jackpot‘ that has signed on Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Armie Hammer (The Social Network), and Mila Kunis (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) to star. I even hear that Jennifer Garner is about to sign on to the cast as well. ‘Jackpot‘ is of course a remake from a 2011 Norwegian action-comedy film about a guy who wakes up in a strip club with a gun in his hand and surrounded by a bunch of dead people. Oh yeah, and the police have their guns drawn on him when he wakes up.

Woody Allen Casts Leads for Amazon Original Series!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 26th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

woody-allen-elaine-may-mylie-cyrus

Woody Allen is an artist that garners reactions on both ends of the spectrum when it comes to enjoyment of his projects, you either love him or hate him. It seems, he’s not always happy with his decisions, either, at the last Cannes, he said the deal he made to create a TV series for Amazon was a catastrophic mistake and he regretted signing on to make an original series. His plan was to create a movie, but in six parts, that didn’t quite work out as planned. He struggled through the process and will write, direct and star in the finished product along with two unlikely co-stars.

Bryan Kluger’s Best/Worst of 2015!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 30th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

1140-mfg-2015-Readers-Choice-Best-Movie-poll-collage-promo.imgcache.rev1449178940055.web.722.414

I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. 2015 was an interesting year to say the least, most of which was great. Movie-wise, I think 2015 had some excellent films filling its theaters, but of course it had some real stinkers too. Below is my list of the Best and Worst films of 2015.  I believe this year I watched over 175 new films, theatrically speaking and it was very difficult to narrow them down from 25. After some strawberry cake covered in Lucky Charms, I finally had a TOP 15, however, these films are in no particular order this year. But when you talk about the Best movies, you have to mention the worst too. My list tends to be a tad bit different from others, but hey, I’m twisted. I highly encourage you to seek out these movies – good or bad and enjoy the rest of your year.
