Blu-Ray Review: ‘Iron Man 3’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 17th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

iron-man3

With ‘Iron Man 2‘ proving to be less than stellar back in 2010, this third sequel of the Marvelhero returns with a much needed boost of attitude and character that takes us through many twists and turns and tons of new Iron Man suits. This can be considered a sequel to both 2010′s ‘Iron Man‘ and Joss Whedon’s ‘The Avengers‘. Director Shane Black tosses away much of the wham-bam action scenes and focuses on the quick witted humor and our hero’s internal struggle with crippling panic attacks. I have no doubt this will be a fan favorite of the franchise.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Sony has finalized the deal to have ‘Iron Man 3‘ and ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang‘ director Shane Black to co-write and direct the next comic book adaptation of ‘Doc Savage‘. This is looking to be Black’s next directorial effort. I couldn’t be more thrilled with this news. I love Black’s work and I thought his ‘Iron Man 3‘ film was the best yet of the franchise as you can read HERE.

Hi, Bryan Here….

iron-patriot-iron-man-3-character-poster

Here is the new ‘Iron Man 3‘ poster which has Don Cheadle (Rhodes) in the Iron Patriot armor, which looks very cool. Shane Black making an ‘Iron Man‘ film is just incredible. I think it might be the best one yet. The third installment opens up May 3rd, and I’m sure we all can’t wait.  I hope at the end of the film we get a tease for the next ‘Avengers’ movie.

‘Iron Man 3’ Will Get the IMAX 3D Treatment!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 22nd, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

bgn2

Disney and Marvel just announced that the 3rd ‘Iron Man‘ film will be released in IMAX 3D, meaning the final version of the film will be remastered for the impressive format.  This also means higher ticket prices for all of us.  So far, the last two ‘Iron Man’ films have grossed over $1.2 billion in the box office, and with this new film having higher ticket prices, I wouldn’t be surprised if this new movie were to surpass the $2 billion mark for all three flicks.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Here is a fun and short look at ‘Iron Man 3′, which the full length trailer will be released Tuesday.  Enjoy this snippet of what you can expect.  Iron Man gets a third outing fresh from his team-up with The Avengers in this Marvel Studios production. Jon Favreau Will Return to ‘Iron Man 3’ As An Actor!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 25th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here…

I think most of knew that Jon Favreau was not directing the third installment of ‘Iron Man’,and that Shane Black was going to take the reigns.  But, it looks like Favreau will reprise his role as Tony Stark’s bodyguard, Hogan, in the next ‘Iron Man’ film.  Shooting has already begun earlier this week in North Carolina.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Oscar winner Ben Kinglsey (Schindler’s List/Gandhi) is final negotiations to take on Iron Man’s next villain in ‘Iron Man 3’.  A lot of fans of Iron Man were hoping to see that villain be the Mandarin, but insiders close to the film have hinted it won’t be the Mandarin.  All that I know is that when Kinglsey and Robert Downey Jr. share the screen, everything will be glittered with gold.

Hi Bryan Here…

Jon Favreau who is best known for his role in Swingers and also as director of the films “Elf”, “Zathura”, and the last two Iron Man films, has decided to turn down the offer to direct Iron Man 3 for Marvel.   Instead he has signed on to direct the big epic film called “The Magic Kingdom” which you can read our earlier coverage of this film HERE.

So a little while ago we all knew that Disney bought the comic publisher, Marvel.  I cannot believe this soon, that Disney is already soaked up Marvel Films.

Paramount has released the previous Iron Man Films, but the 3rd one will be Disney.  Paramount was given $115 million dollars for this, but this has got to suck for Paramount.  The Avengers movie will be Disney as well but Thor and Captain America will still be with Paramount.

Disney announced that Iron Man 3 has a release date of May 3rd, 2013.   No word yet on if Jon Favreau will direct, but hopefully he will be first choice.  also no word on if it will be 3-D or not.  Hopefully not.

Iron Sky: The Coming Race – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 16th, 2019

“Iron Sky: The Coming Race is a fun-as-hell movie.”

In 2012, Finnish filmmaker Timo Vuorensola, gave us the film ‘Iron Sky‘, which was about the defeated Nazi soldiers from WWII, who somehow retreated to the dark side of the moon, built a home base, and prepped to bring a big war back to Earth in 2018. Oh what a fun movie that was. It even became a cult hit amongst the horror genre crowd. Some seven years later, Timo took to the crowdfunding sites and brought in enough cash to make a sequel called ‘Iron Sky: The Coming Race‘.  Oddly, this is the only film he’s done since the first ‘Iron Sky‘ movie and I can’t figure out why, because both these films are visually great and pack a ton of fun and action from start to finish. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I want more from Timo Vuorensola.

Batman 30th Anniversary – 4K UHD Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 11th, 2019

In 1989, the birth of summer blockbusters became real with Tim Burton’s Batman. Before that, the superhero genre was not the behemoth it was today with A-list actors, 9-figure budgets, and compelling dramatic tones. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Us comic books fans had to settle for slapstick one-liners in low budget sets and costumes to get our favorite heroes on screen. It wasn’t until that summer where everything changed and paved the way for films like X-Men, the MCU, and Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight franchise. It was a strange decision too, but Warner Bros. and DC Comics decided on the young filmmaker Tim Burton to take on the large budget and big named comic book adaptation of Batman. Until then, Burton had only done Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure and Beetlejuice.
