FX Orders 8 Episodes Of X-Men Series ‘Legion’ Starring Dan Stevens!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
FX Networks has more Marvel and X-Men news, this time it’s an 8-episode order to ‘Legion‘ starring Dan Stevens. Stevens is one of the most heart-stopping reasons to love ‘Downton Abbey‘ and he’s playing the titular male role in Disney’s upcoming ‘Beauty and the Beast‘. ‘Legion‘ is the first cable hosted series for Marvel, ABC hosts ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ and Netflix is home to four other comic-book shows.

Downton’s Dan Stevens Cast As ‘Legion’ For FX Series!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
FX is wading deeper in the Marvel world with the plan for ‘Legion‘, an X-Men-universe series from ‘Fargo‘ creator Noah Hawley who wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer. Marvel TV in cooperation with FX Prods will bring us the series based on the story of David Haller, the son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier and played by the dashing Dan Stevens (‘Downton Abbey‘, ‘Beauty and the Beast‘). Stevens joins a cast that also features Aubrey Plaza, Jean Smart and Rachel Keller.
Interview with Dan Stevens, Adam Wingard, and Simon Barrett on ‘The Guest’!!
Hi everyone, Bryan Here…
We had the opportunity to sit down with actor Dan Stevens (‘Downton Abbey‘), and filmmakers Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett (‘You’re Next‘) and discuss their latest horror film ‘The Guest‘. We go over what sparked the idea for this amazing film, some of the casting, and even a remake of ‘Ernest Goes to Jail‘. It’a a lot of fun. Enjoy. And be sure to see their movie.
Dan Moran’s Top Films of 2018 and his Award Nominations!
This year I saw 102 new movies in 2018. That number is actual movies released in 2018. I count Netflix and streaming movies released this year because that is where we are heading but the majority of the 102 was in movie theaters. I decided not to rank my top movies this year because at the end of the day the difference between #10 thru #3 is usually based on my mood when I write the list. So I just put my top movies in ABC order.
Fantastic Fest Film Review: ‘Apostle’!
Easily my favorite movie of Fantastic Fest so far, Apostle is the type of movie that will stay with you hours after watching it. Gareth Evans wrote and directed this disturbing tale of Thomas (Dan Stevens) who infiltrates a religious cult on a remote island in order to rescue his kidnapped sister. Any further descent into the plot would ruin surprises that were a joy to discover during the movie. Evans’ ability to depict brutality and rage is second to none. What’s that? You haven’t seen The Raid or its sequel? Go watch those then come back to this review.

Film Review #2: ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (2017)!
Dan M., here….
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (1991) is in the top 2 Disney animated movies of all-time. I’ll only allow The Lion King, which has a live action version due in 2019 or 2020, to be ranked ahead of it. This isn’t a debate. These are facts. Beauty and the Beast (animated) is a masterpiece from songs to characters, which is why I loved that this new live-action movie stayed so true to the animated version. It was an extremely enjoyable two hours with some really great moments and I look forward to seeing it again.
Film Review: ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (2017)!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
While Disney is busy making ‘Marvel‘ movies and new ‘Star Wars‘ films, they are finding it difficult to make original films these days, which is why they are taking their back catalogue of animated movies and remaking them in the live-action format. We’ve seen it with ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘Cinderella’, and the recent ‘Snow White’ films. Disney has no plans on stopping either, as with the release of ‘Beauty and the Beast‘ and their upcoming ‘Lion King’ live action remake. After watching this new version of ‘Beauty and the Beast‘, I don’t have high hopes for future live action Disney films whatsoever.
Take A Peek At Marvel’s ‘Legion’ Coming To FX In 2017!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Writer/Director Noah Hawley brings Marvel’s ‘Legion‘ comic to life for FX. We got our first peek at what this project looks like and it’s freaking awesome! It stars Dan Stevens and Aubrey Plaza and debuts in 2017, but check out the trailer below and tell me what you think!
Be Our Guest for the Live Action ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Trailer!
Hi everyone, Bryan Here…
That’s right. We are getting a live-action ‘Beauty and the Beast‘ film from Disney with an all-star cast that includes, Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson. Bill Condon (Twilight: Breaking Dawn) is directing and Tim Rice is still doing the score, which is awesome.
Ewan McGregor Is Latest Addition to ‘Beauty and the Beast’!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
As if I wasn’t excited for Disney’s live-action ‘Beauty and the Beast‘ already, the latest casting news has put me over the top! Ewan McGregor is joining the cast as the romantic, debonair Lumiere!
‘Beauty and the Beast’ Brings Gugu Mbatha-Raw On Board!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Disney’s live-action ‘Beauty and the Beast‘ is chugging along, steadily filling out the cast with new announcements seemingly coming every day. We all know the story, a young Belle agrees to stay in a castle with a monstrous beast to ensure her father’s freedom, but things aren’t always what they appear to be on the surface.
Sir Ian McKellen Cast In Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Disney is right in the middle of their latest trend in film. Taking their own smash animated stories and flipping them around, re-working them into live-action films providing double the bank off a single story. If you’re talking box office success, they’re mega-hits, if you’re looking at critically, they’ve missed the end zone more than they’ve scored. Next up for the family studio is ‘Beauty and the Beast‘.
Live-Action Musical ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Casts Mrs. Potts!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
We’ve all heard the story, a tale as old as time…Our heroine Belle, sacrifices her freedom to trade places with her father living in an enchanted castle with a horridly monstrous beast that embodies the stuff nightmares are made of. She holds the key to his ultimate salvation and the others living in the castle nudge the pair together in hopes the end of their enchantment will be realized. I grew up on the Disney animated feature and it’s remained one of my top 3 toon-movies even now.

Film Review: ‘The Guest’!
Hi everyone, Bryan Here…
Filmmakers Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett have struck gold again. They pleased critics and genre fans alike with last year’s slaughter fest ‘You’re Next‘ and made great entries into the ‘V/H/S‘ franchise. Their new film ‘The Guest‘, which Wingard directed and Barrett wrote, is one of the most entertaining films of the year. Not only that, but Wingard and Barrett single handedly revitalized the horror genre with this movie. It’s a hit to the nostalgic testicles that will make you fall to your knees and yell for joy.

Film Review: ‘Hail, Caesar!”
Hi everyone, Bryan Here….
It’s always a good time when the Coen Bros. have a new movie in theaters. Film after film, the Coen Bros. have not only told bizarre, funny, violent, musical stories, but have conjured up some of the best characters in movie history. Their uncanny talent for telling stories on film is unrivaled with each movie they make. Their latest endeavor tackles the early years of Hollywood, specifically the year 1951, in a film called ‘Hail, Caesar!‘ that has an A-List cast of Coen regulars and newcomers. Even though the posters and trailers show this A-List cast throughout, the film follows one man, and that is Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin), based on the real life Mannix who was a big time producer and “fixer” at MGM.
Here’s the New Trailer for ‘Divergent III: Allegiant’!
Hi everyone, Bryan Here….
For you ‘Divergent‘ fans, here is a new trailer for the third film in the series ‘Allegiant‘. I have not been a fan of these movies, but I know a lot of you are. The new trailer promises more action and melodrama, but in the past films, they never deliver to full satisfaction. Here’s hoping for a better film with the third one.
Top 10 Soundtracks We Want To See Released on Vinyl!
Hi everyone, Bryan Here…
Many of you might already know that I love listening to movie soundtracks. I always have. Since I was a little tyke who could barely see over a counter, I was infatuated with movie scores and soundtracks, particularly the ‘E.T.‘ original motion picture score and the ‘Beverly Hill Cop‘ soundtrack. From there, my love and passion grew for all types of music. My parents had a pretty good record collection that included all three original ‘Star Wars’ albums, ‘The Wizard of Oz‘, and ‘Star Trek I and II’ to just name a few. Throughout the years, I now have a fun record collection that spans all genres of music from Frank Zappa to Rage Against the Machine, from R.L. Burnside to The Pixies, and so on. Along the way, digging through the dirty stacks of crates at local record shops and estate sales, I became hell bent on having one of the best Soundtrack collections. And over the past several years, I’ve been lucky enough to acquire some very sought after albums. But there are still so many soundtracks that have never found their way to vinyl, either commercially or ever really. So here is a list in the hopes that maybe Varèse Sarabande, Mondo, or Death Waltz will consider releasing these albums in the near future.
Jana’s Best/Worst of 2014!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
It’s been a big year for the entertainment world. Netflix’s initial push to bring movie-theater worthy films straight to streaming customers and bypassing the big screen altogether set off a chain of deals that will take those fresh releases and push them directly into homes allowing us to bypass a $15.00 soda, but denying us the $20.00 popcorn you can only get at the theater. Then came the deluge of series and movies being made for exclusive run with everyone from Netflix, Amazon to Crackle and everything in between. Top that off with the huge breach of privacy Sony experienced. New releases were flooded onto P2P sharing sites and private emails from the film company’s big wigs that show us how the infrastructure of Sony really works, not to mention what those involved really think of some of their superstars.
Film Review: ‘Lincoln’
FedMex Here….
Steven Spielberg is one of the most respected directors of our time. Naturally, when it was announced that he would be directing a biographical film of Abraham Lincoln, we were all pretty excited. This excitement was further elevated when we discovered that Daniel Day-Lewis would be cast as Lincoln himself. To add to all those big names, throw in “you really like me” Sally Field, notoriously cranky Tommy Lee Jones (as Thaddeus Stevens), and super talented dreamboat Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and I mean, how could this possibly go wrong?
