‘IT: Chapter 2’ – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 4th, 2019

“‘IT: Chapter 2’ has some golden moments of horror and comedy, but it comes at an exhaustive and taxing price.”

The second and final chapter of ‘IT‘ brings the adult renderings of Stephen King’s kid heroes to the forefront some 27 years later in ‘IT: Chapter 2‘, that stars Bill Hader, Jessica Chastain, and James McAvoy. This sequel runs in at three hours alone, making the two films over five hours long. Director Andy Muschietti has even said there is a 6.5-hour super-cut of the movie, which leads me to ask why this wasn’t released on a streaming format, due to its episodic nature and extensive time run. Still, this second chapter is entertaining enough but suffers from major flaws in pacing, redundancy, and trying to over-complicate things.

The Angry Birds Movie‘ made such a giant splash for Rovio Entertainment Ltd. that a sequel has been announced. This one is kind of a “Duh!” move, but I’m glad it’s officially in the works. I think I probably enjoyed the movie more than my kids did, but it was something we kept talking about for a few days after. Read the rest of this entry »

Get ready to enjoy an animated movie in a way we’ve never enjoyed one before. Very R-Rated and not at all appropriate for kids. Ladies, check your tampons at the door because this is the red band trailer for ‘Sausage Party‘. A raunchy, hilarious look at the food we eat every day and this chick loves what she sees!

Film Review: ‘The BFG’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 29th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

maxresdefault

I’m just thankful that Steven Spielberg is not doing awful period pieces like his last films, including ‘Lincoln‘, ‘War Horse‘, and ‘Bridge of Spies‘. Yes, those films won Oscars, but I’m willing to bet you’ve only seen the once and will never see them again. I’m thankful and excited that Spielberg has returned, at least for a few films into his magical world of sci-fi, which he excels at. This time around, Spielberg is tackling the children’s story of ‘The BFG‘ or ‘Big Friendly Giant’, by the great author Roald Dahl (‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory‘, ‘Matilda‘, ‘James and the Giant Peach‘, and ‘The Witches‘).

Hey guys, Jana here,

stephenroot

Stephen Root can be solidly qualified as one of “those guys”. You’ve seen him in just about everything, but oh-my-gosh-what-is-his-name?! He’s an amazing character and as such, has been in too many projects to list and his voice has featured in even more. He was the voice behind one of the core characters from the long-running ‘King of the Hill‘ animated series for example. Now he can add one more credit to his resume with a role in ‘Barry‘.

Enjoy the first trailer for ‘The BFG’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 9th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

screen-shot-2015-12-09-at-9-37-12-am

The BFG‘ trailer has arrived and looks quite good. This is a Steven Spielberg project, based on the Roald Dahl book of the same name. The BFG stands for Big Friendly Giant if you were unaware. The trailer is a tiny bit scary and mysterious, but looks like a fun adventure. Mark Rylance (‘Bridge of Spies‘) plays the giant with Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader, Jemaine Clement and Ruby Barnhill starring in the film. I can’t wait for this one. ‘The BFG’ opens July 1st 2016. Enjoy.

Film Review: ‘The Good Dinosaur’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 24th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

maxresdefault

This year marks the first time that Pixar released to feature films in the same year. Usually, Pixar releases one film every year or two, but in 2015, we got both ‘Inside Out‘ and this new Thanksgiving release ‘The Good Dinosaur‘. There was good reason for this second release as well, as this might have been the first Pixar movie to ever have a troubled history of production. Back in 2009, Bob Peterson came up with the story and was set to direct ‘The Good Dinosaur‘ a couple of years later.

First Trailer For ‘Angry Birds’ Flies Into View!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Sep 23rd, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

screencapture-www-imdb-com-media-rm2547248128-tt1985949-1443026628854

When I heard that the game ‘Angry Birds‘ was being made into a movie, it was obvious what the story-line would consist of: pissed off birds and smug, slightly stupid and villainous pigs battling. Over what? Looks like the pigs are landing alien-like into the birds world. I can completely understand Red’s anger in this clip and am so excited for this movie!

Film Review: ‘Trainwreck’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 15th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

NEbTciZPpnq3ei_1_b

Comedy mastermind Judd Apatow is back this year with a new feature film called ‘Trainwreck‘ and is his best film since ‘Knocked Up‘. That was eight years ago. Sure, Apatow has written and produced dozens of films since then, but has only really directed two other feature films since, being ‘Funny People‘ and ‘This is 40‘. The usual actors are nowhere to be seen in ‘Trainwreck‘ either. There is no Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Jason Segel, Martin Starr, or even James Franco to be seen anywhere on screen. Actress and comedienne Amy Schumer wrote the screenplay here for Apatow to direct and the two are a perfect pair.
