Murder Mystery – Film Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 14th, 2019

“Murder Mystery is a thrilling comedy that stars the Sand-Man and Jennifer Aniston.”

Adam Sandler is taking to Netflix like a fish to water these days. You won’t be seeing his latest comedic films in theaters, but rather straight to Netflix. Coming off the heels of his excellent stand-up special (also exclusively on Netflix), Sandler’s next vehicle is Murder Mystery, a thrilling comedy that stars the Sand-Man and Jennifer Aniston. The two play a married couple who want to spice up their life as they head to Europe for a vacation, where you guessed it, a murder mystery ensues. Think Murder on the Orient Express, but with Sandler in Europe. The film works best when Sandler and Aniston are having those all too-real relationship discussions where you always don’t see eye-to-eye. I was laughing out loud and relating quite a bit. Other than those sequences and dialogue, it’s silly business as usual.

Film Review: ‘Office Christmas Party’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 9th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

L-R: Kate McKinnon as Mary Winetoss, Jason Bateman as Josh Parker, T.J. Miller as Clay Vanstone, Olivia Munn as Tracey Hughes in OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY by Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks Pictures, and Reliance Entertainment

We’ve all been to Christmas Parties at the office before, and this time of year, when it’s Christmas, we get a plethora of holiday themed films. Well, the end of 2016 gives us ‘Office Christmas Party‘, the vulgar rated R Christmas movie that centers around a giant office Christmas party that’s made by the filmmaking duo of Will Speck and Josh Gordon (‘Blades of Glory‘). Does this offer any insight or something new to the comedy Christmas genre? No, not at all. That being said, this is a highly entertaining and hilarious film that I can see myself watching every year around the holidays. With the all-star cast, good soundtrack, funny dialogue, and an office party that we would all want to attend – ‘Office Christmas Party‘ is a success.

‘Benji’ Reboot Underway In New Orleans!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Oct 18th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

benji-9

If you’re a director in Hollywood and you’ve got a movie near and dear to your heart that you don’t want to see bastardized with a remake, how can you prevent that? Well, if you’re Joe Camp, you get your son to be the one responsible for the remake. If this one gets messed up Christmas is pretty awkward, right? OK, I don’t know if that’s the exact way the reboot came about, but the bottom line is we’re getting a reboot of ‘Benji‘!!!

Hey guys, Jana here,

1000587175

Finally coming to Blu-ray is the 1999 instant classic, ‘The Iron Giant‘! Winner of 9 Annie Awards, remastered and enhanced with two brand-new scenes, Iron Giant tells the tale of an unlikely friendship between an alien robot from outer space, with a voice by Vin Diesel, and a rebellious boy named Hogarth (Eli Marienthal), his bedraggled mom (Jennifer Aniston), a paranoid government agent (Christopher McDonald), and a sympathetic beatnik (Harry Conick, Jr.) who all work together to turn director Brad Bird’s story into a gigantic, out-of-this-world adventure.

There’s A ‘Friends’ Reunion In Our Future!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 13th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

friends_h

NBC has a surprise for those of us that rely on our ‘Friends‘, not the flesh and blood people we share our lives with, but the TV series that rocked our world from 1994-2004 and thanks to Netflix still beams into most homes on a regular basis.

Hey guys, Jana here,

The_Iron_Giant

Fathom Events is bringing an animated family classic back to theaters so you can relive a moment from your childhood with your kids. Before he made huge waves at Disney with ‘The Incredibles‘ and ‘Tomorrowland‘, he directed a little genius of a movie for Warner Bros. named ‘The Iron Giant‘.

Film Review: ‘Cake’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 21st, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

cake-toronto-film-festival

At first glance, you’d think ‘Cake‘ is just another romantic comedy film starring the beautiful and talented Jennifer Aniston, but then you’d be very wrong. This utterly depressing yet beautiful film shows just how much range Aniston has on screen, as she’s not her usual comical self here. Directed by Daniel Barnz (‘Beastly‘) and written by Patrick Tobin (this is really his only screen credit), ‘Cake‘ is a moving and honest look at a broken woman who is trying to pull the pieces of her life together. It’s one flaw is in its screenplay, which tends to play on a smaller emotional level than the tearjerker it obviously wants to be.

‘Horrible Bosses 2’ Trailer Is Here!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Sep 5th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

HORRIBLE-BOSSES-2

We all remember ‘Horrible Bosses‘ from a few years ago. It was an absolute laugh factory and was worth it’s weight in gold with some of the characters it brought us. Jamie Foxx was amazing in his role as the group of would-be-hitmen’s advisor. Then how can we forget the role that made me absolutely detest Colin Farrell? I honestly didn’t think it would be possible until I saw that film. It was witty, (mostly) intelligent, and dead-to-rights hilarious. How could there be anything better? A sequel.

Jana B. here,

adam Sandler

Chris Columbus is one of my favorite directors, with good reason, he directed ‘Adventures in Babysitting‘, ‘Home Alone‘, ‘Mrs. Doubtfire‘, the first two ‘Harry Potter‘ films and a great stage to big screen adaptation of ‘Rent‘. If Chris Columbus had a hand in the film, chances are I’ll love it.

Jana B., Here….

 Horrible Bosses

I loved ‘Horrible Bosses‘. I’m a fan of just about anything funny and Bosses did not disappoint. So I’m kind of excited about the news that there is a ‘Horrible Bosses 2‘ set to begin production at the beginning of November. Although I have to wonder where the story line is going to go with Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Spacey. Colin Farrell is not listed in the cast list for HB2 so we just have to assume that Bobby Pellett is still in prison.

Kim L. Takes A Trip With ‘We’re The Millers’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 8th, 2013

Kim L., Here….

 1375802764000-AP-FILM-REVIEW-WE-RE-THE-MILLERS-57447294-1308062215_4_3

I think this is one of the funniest films this year.  Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston have great on screen chemistry and to add Emma Roberts and Will Poulter makes for a really fun time at the movies. Jason plays David Clark a small time drug dealer that gets robbed trying to help out Will’s character Kenny who is defending Casey played by Emma Roberts.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Okay, let me get this straight.  A 90’s horror film called ‘Leprechaun’ starring Warwick Davis and a young Jennifer Aniston is getting remade by the WWE?  WWE meaning World Wrestling Entertainment?  The same place that gave us Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock?  From way out of left field, this is absolutely correct.  So, yes, this is happening.  Let’s not forget we have several ‘Leprechaun’ films already in the library including: ‘Leprechaun in the Hood’ and ‘Leprechaun: Innnnn Spaaaaaace’!!! I can’t make this stuff up.  And just in time for St. Paddy’s Day.

Hi Bryan Here…..

The studios and John Francis Daley (Freaks and Geeks/Bones) and Jonathan Goldstein have come to a deal to write the screenplay for a sequel to the much successful ‘Horrible Bosses’.  It is expected that Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis would return to star in the movie, and the studio is in early talks with helmer Seth Gordon to return to the director’s chair.
