Hey guys, Jana here,

mayans-serie-derivada

While we haven’t been hearing massive amounts of movement from FX’s planned spinoff of ‘Sons of Anarchy‘, ‘Mayans MC‘, the plans are still in motion and the show is moving forward. We now know that shooting for the pilot will begin in March.

Hey guys, Jana here,

kurt-sutter-elgin-james

We’ve been hearing of a planned ‘Sons of Anarchy‘ spinoff series that would focus on the sometimes friend, sometimes foe of the fictional SOA – The Mayans, since the former closed up shop in 2014. Since then it’s just been a “planned spinoff” but there hasn’t been any traction made on the project, until now. We’re a little closer to a final product with an official title, ‘Mayans MC‘, and a new writer. Read the rest of this entry »

Sons of Anarchy‘ may have run it’s course after seven seasons but the world created around the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original will go on. The Sons aren’t making a great come-back, but it will be one of the rival gangs coming back to life in the spinoff creator, writer and all-around genius Kurt Sutter has been working on in the nine months since SOA wrapped.

Hey guys, Jana here,

It’s the week for casting news! There are constant announcements coming from everyone this week and why would Kurt Sutter’s name be left out? As if! (Yes, I totally went all ‘Clueless‘ there for a moment, but I’m back now.) Sutter’s latest series for FX, the same network that brought Sutter’s previous smash-series ‘Sons of Anarchy‘ to life, is coming back with another series, ‘The Bastard Executioner‘.

Jimmy Smits Joins FX’s ‘Sons Of Anarchy’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 5th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

Jimmy Smits is jumping sides here and is set to appear in the upcoming fifth season of FX’s  ‘Sons of Anarchy’ in a major season long story arc.  Smits will play Neron “Nero” Padilla, a Latino gang-banger with an exit strategy who becomes a dangerous mentor for Jax (Charlie Hunnam).  Smits has played bad guys before, so he is no slouch to playing villains.  I think he will add a lot to the show and is cast perfectly.

Hello, Jana here,

 alwayssunny_daemonstv

FX has done exceptionally well for themselves with regards to successful original programming. Shows like ‘Justified‘, ‘Sons of Anarchy‘, ‘American Horror Story‘ and ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘ have become proven fan favorites. and mark pretty high viewer numbers that definitely make this network a proven competitor in the battle for a target audience.

Film Review: ‘Happy Death Day 2U’!!

by Janet White on Feb 12th, 2019

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

Snoring, and probably some drooling, too, opens and continues the Happy Death Day series with Happy Death Day 2U.  Is it Tree Gelbman (Jessica Rothe), a troubled college student, doomed to repeat her birthday (death day) over and over?  No, it is Ryan Phan (Phi Vu), the stranded roommate of Carter Davis (Israel Broussard).  Ryan heads to his room where he meets Tree and Carter with the same awkward question, “Dude, did you hit that fine vagina or wha…?”  Read the rest of this entry »

Jana’s Best of 2017!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 1st, 2018

Hey guys, Jana here,

I know these “Best of 2017” lists should technically be published in 2017, but why would I start 2018 any differently than I lived the majority of my adult life: Procrastinating and underachieving. What can I say? That’s my wheelhouse.

For a year that put a spotlight on some of the shittiest behavior by some of the Hollywood elite, it was actually a good year for TV and movies. I didn’t limit myself in number because as I moved on with the brackets, I felt like I was making ‘Sophie’s Choice‘ on some of these, so they’re all getting in! I’m feeling my inner-Oprah here, You’ve made the list! You made the list! EVERYBODY made the list!! In order to spare myself any arguments, I’m stating up front that my picks for the “Best of 2017” are not edited in regards to scandal or hideous human behavior.

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

King Arthur - Trio

Forget every film about the story of King Arthur, because King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword has nearly nothing to do with them. Uther Pendragon (Eric Bana, Yum!) is still Arthur’s father and Igraine (Poppy Delevingne) is his mother, but there is an uncle thrown into the mix, Vortigern (Jude Law). I cannot recall the character in medieval tale (and I took a course on King Arthur in college). Anyway, Law played him pretty well. I will not give it away, but I do not think I have seen Law like this ever. Mordred is a sorcerer instead of the Arthur’s son from Morgaine Le Fay? Yes, this is King Arthur told in a novel method. Film Review: ‘The Birth of a Nation’!!

by Janet White on Oct 7th, 2016

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

the-birth-of-a-nation-sermon

When I first heard that I had the assignment to review The Birth of a Nation, I was discouraged. The 1918 version was so full of racist stereotypes, blackface, and made a hero of such a horrible organization, the Ku Klux Klan. I didn’t want to screen the 2016 film of the same name (I don’t research prior to a screening, so the experience is fresh and unbiased by propaganda). Admittedly, after watching the 2016 version, I was still discouraged. Though told from the Black point of view, I saw such atrocities committed on both sides of the racial line.   Read the rest of this entry »

The Big Bang Theory‘ has found a new way to pique viewer’s interest for the upcoming tenth season. They’re finally introducing more of Penny’s family! Specifically, her mom and brother. In a world where Christine Baranski and Laurie Metcalf are the atypical moms, there needs to be someone equally hilarious and well-known to fit into the group, and Katey Sagal fits both qualifiers.

The Possibility Of Fireflies‘ is a novel by Dominique Paul published in 2006 and is, at it’s heart a coming of age story. Taking place during the summer of 1989 in suburban Maryland. It follows Ellie Roma (Joey King) – a precocious teenager with dreams of becoming a writer – who must cope with her chaotic, self destructive mother Susanna (Courtney Love) and a volatile metal-head sister, Gwen.
